So McD visits with Chriss and Bender and no word....we can expect to hear nothing. Trying to talk to McD about what he is going to do at this point is like...

Ok, so if we were to trade #4 for Russell and Bledsoe for #8/Future 1st, lets mock out the draft according to recent reports:

Sixers - Simmons (No brainer)
Lakers - Ingram (No brainer)
Celtics - Brown (Recent reports, 2nd workout, lots of Celtic/Brown love in the media)
Lakers - Buddy (Recent reports)
Wolves - Dunn (Reported as not working out for other teams after talking to the Wolves, Thibs loves his D)
Pelicans - Murray (Linked in media due to Gordon leaving, Already have PG and PF covered pretty well, needs a shooter)
Nuggets - Bender? (Foreign player haven, have PG and C covered with openings everywhere else)
Suns - ??????????????????????????????? Like i said, i could totally see Chriss falling if we dont grab him at #4.

Now im still not totally 100% on Chriss and still think there are a lot of unanswered questions about him, specially @ #4, but at #8 i would feel a lot better with it. If #4/Bledsoe could net us Russell/Chriss(#8) and a future pick, seriously, how could we go wrong with that?

In what world does McD in the final year of his contract trade #4 to our biggest rival so they could pick not only Ingram but Hield? We aren't helping the Lakers period. That is beyond farfetched and borderline insane.

Besides the Kings are dysfunctional as it gets and McD doesn't do trades that don't bring back a nice haul. We are not here to help the Kings keep Cousins longer. In fact we previously had interest in trading for him and pairing him up with Bledsoe.

I would be fine with that outcome especially if McD was going to take Chriss at 4 anyway. I almost posted something similar to this earlier but then realized there is no way it could be executed until draft night because it was too risky. No one will likely trade picks because they want a player until they know they have that player with the pick they are trading for. That is why there are so many trades that take place after a pick is made involving two prior picks.

My gut at this point tells me McD really likes Chriss and maybe Bender depending on the workout and interview. At this point I don't even know what to think, but Bender does seem to have SO many more skills than Chriss. The way people talk about Chriss and how he is the most athletic prospect by a long shot is intriguing, but also could be fools gold..

I'd still probably take Chriss at 4 if Bender is gone at this point unless we have some sort of idea about where we can trade a guard and some sort of idea about where to get a PF.

Not just to fill the need, but more because I think he is on the same tier as Murray and Dunn. I put Hield and Brown a notch below.

It's interesting, because Hield seemed very confident the Lakers would take him and said the Lakers are the only team he had a individual workout with. On the other hand, the guys Ford says LAL likes besides Ingram are Brown and Chriss. I think if a trade like that were to go down, LAL would take Chriss #4.

Would never happen. The Celtics would not pass on Ingram. If we're talking about unlikely scenarios, trading Bledsoe to Sacramento for #8 and then trading #4, #8 and #13 to LA for #2 is more likely.

Dont forget about all the other "Lights Our Shooting Stars" that didnt even make it as a role player, like Jimmer and Morrison.

Hield will be drafted by the Kings. Book it. Jimmer, Stauskas, McLemore and Hield. Fits right in.

We're dealing in probabilities, it's just that in order to make an argument you have to make it seem like your player is the GOAT and the other guy will be a scrub.

If you could definately say Hield is going to be Curry and not Stauskas you'd be a Real GM, not on Real GM.

What makes you think Ainge doesn't pick Brown/Murray/Hield?

Yeah, that's for sure happening. There have been a few closed and unannounced workouts. How did Eric say Onuaku was? I think teams are going to be a little scared off and he could drop into the 2nd round.

Was just out with him in Scottsdale, he didn't say much besides that he put him to work and was handing out Ls lol. Eric was telling me that he might end up on our Summer League team, but he wasn't positive yet. He said Onuaku got worn out pretty quick, so I think that he's still recovering from his heart surgery a bit.

Does anyone remember a few years back we had a poster called dbdynasty?

A bit fortuitous that we may very well be starting our next chapter with not one "db" (Devin Booker) but 2 (dragan bender)...

Croatian 7-footer Dragan Bender and Washington’s 6-foot-10 Marquese Chriss had unannounced, individual workouts with the Suns in Phoenix.

The Suns also held their draft preparation’s most talent-loaded group workout Saturday, featuring three candidates for the Suns’ No. 13 pick in Michigan State power forward Deyonta Davis, Michigan State shooting guard Denzel Valentine and French small forward Timothe Luwawu. The workout also included Louisville center Chinanu Onuaku and help from Arizona State center Eric Jabobsen for a second time.

The Suns could be choosing between Bender and Chriss, two 18-year-old power forwards, or opting for whichever one Boston does not select at No. 3 in Thursday night's draft. The guard trio of Kentucky’s Jamal Murray, Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield and Providence’s Kris Dunn could also be in play for both teams but the Suns have nothing but vacancies at power forward.

Full game Sabonis vs Chriss\Murray.

https://youtu.be/ACneIMNi30w

I think Chriss is going to get Murdered in the NBA on defense. His motor is not good, he floats all over the court and doesnt persue rebounds at all. His rebounding issues arent because hes young, its because he doesnt try, stands around and watches the ball. I was actually warming up to drafting him but not after watching this game.

Murray I like, he can get to the basket at will. He needs some polish, his game is a bit wild all around but he definitely has all the tools.

Sabonis, what can you say? Slow and steady wins the race. Hes just so solid in everything he does.

Im going to try to find another washington game to watch Chriss but right now I am super unimpressed.

That is what I was talking about it. Watching a full game you understand quickly that Chriss is not worth to be a Top 5 pick at all.

He doesn't play with passion and effort, and he seems dumb as hell playing ball. It amazes me that GMs are thinking about drafting him that high in the draft.

Report: Possible first-round pick Damian Jones of Vanderbilt undergoes surgery on torn pectoral

If he falls he can be a great option at #28 or #34.

Ok, just watched another half of Chriss vs San Diego State. The dude is a complete ghost. His defense is so bad, like you said just clueless as to whats going on. The way he plays post defense is downright cringeworthy. He has to be a smokescreen.

I will question McD's talent evaluation abillity if he drafts this guy, even with his Booker pull.

Off to watch the next prospect Jaylen Brown.
