Ideal Nuggets Draft

Post#1 » by Logan18 » Thu Jun 16, 2016 12:56 am

Thought it'd be interesting to hear everybody's "ideal" draft for the nuggets (keeping it realistic). Personally I would want:

#7: Hield
#15: Deyonta Davis
#19: Deandre Bembry

I think this would give us a good combination of the shooting we need(Hield), along with a potential power forward of the future (Davis), and a player who could be an all-star if he can develop a jump shot (Bembry). Excited to hear other opinions and thoughts.

7 - pure shooter
15 & 19 - 3nD type and a stretch-4 type

Good thoughts, 7 is really a gamble though. If one of Bender, Dunn, Murray, or Hield are there then we 100% must jump on it. If Brown drops to us I think all we can do it trade up or trade away the pick and a player for a shooter. Worries me so much, but at the same time I can't wait for the draft!

I'm seeing Bender going to the Nugs in more and more mocks.

What am I missing here? Aren't there enough bigs already? Even though he can shoot, isn't he still a project?

Take it with a grain of salt, it's why they call it a "mock " draft

we have "enough" of every position, we are just missing shooting and dominant players at any position. Bender is one of a few players who has the potential to be both a great shooter and an all star level player. If he's there at 7 I think we have to pick him, considering the fact that he would fit well (in theory) next to either Jokic or Nurkic.

Consider Bender from this perspective:
What does Boston need? Nothing specfic/star/BPA - could take Bender
What does Phoenix need? Anything but a guard - could take Bender (but they don't always think smart)
What does Minnesota need? Forwards, especially PF that fits with KAT - could take Bender
What does New Orleans need? - OK, got me there. Maybe PG, SG/scorer for sure, maybe a center.
3-4-5 might take Bender - odds are good he doesn't drop to 7
Then again, odds were good Mudiay wouldn't drop to 7, so what do I know?

Yeah, I guess I can see that.

Maybe I'm still recovering from Skita....

Furthest I see Bender dropping is to 6 NO where they will have a need to replace Ryan Anderson, but if Dunn is there they will have a nice predicament. Which means Jaylen Brown and Marquese Chriss would have to crack the top 5.

Ideally for me:

7th: Buddy Hield, Kris Dunn, Marquese Chriss, Bender, in that order. Can't really go wrong with this pick, IMO.
15th: Henry Ellenson (dropping), Furkan, Malachi Richardson
19th: Luwawu, Denzel Valentine, Draft/Stash or Trade

Somewhere in the second take Isiah Cousins. Saw him play a good amount this year and could develop in the D-League nicely.

#7 or higher better be Murray or Heild. If we don't get one of them I'll be pouting. Later picks won't matter to me at all.

It looks like we will trade #7, to move up or to get all-star, so...better look for #15 and #19 to matter to you xD

Reports are that we are actively shopping that pick. No shock there, but no one is going to give up valuable assets. Main problem is most GMs don't see a big leap in talent from top 10 to the end of the first round.

Knowing we're not getting equal value back, I'd like to keep it and see what the 7 and one of 15 or 19 can do on this roster next year.

I haven't seen any reports from the Nuggets FO - all I can see is forum reports without sources - am I missing something?
