Random Musings: What would you trade for Serge Ibaka?

What makes Drummond better than Baynes, some empty stats? Nobody is trading a star player or high pick for Drummond, do you think the Lakers would trade the #2 pick for him, the league knows he's not that good.

I don't what his trade value is but its no reason to trade him for lesser pieces. Andre has his flaws but he is much better than Aron Baynes and Adams better rebounder, pnr player, maybe defensively as well. Almost any big will look decent when all they do is stand and wait for Westbrook or Durant to dump it off to him. We might as well keep Andre and hope he gets better like our other players instead of trading him for guys that have no shot of being stars.

I want smart players, not "stars". Kevin Love is a star, do you want him, I sure as hell don't? Adams is the same age as Drummond but he's much smarter so in my opinion he has a better chance to improve dramatically. Dumb players don't ever improve, they are what they are and what they are is stat stuffing bums.

actually, kevin love next to dre would be sick, they would cover each others flaws.

Drummond is also 22 while Ibaka is 26, Drummond is clearly a superior talent but your right against all stats Ibaka is much better and we should trade Drummond for him.

Which one is the better individual and team defender?

your forgetting that an anchor is always more important than a helped defender, because their are less true starting anchors.

Yeah, take a look at the "defensive" PFs Drummond has been playing with...

Tobias Harris = Below average defensively
Ersan Ilyasova = Below average defensively
Anthony Tolliver = Below average defensively
Greg Monroe = Way below average defensively (maybe the worst in the league?)

wish people would stop hating on moose, james harden is the worse defender in the league and will be for a while.

Ibaka is a better rim protector than Dre though, especially when he's at the 5.

I would agree that he blocks more shots, but he doesn't take up as much space. That's one of the things that make Dre so valuable, and why he lead the league in rebounding. Blocking the shot is nice, but cutting off lanes and taking up real estate in the paint is a stat that isn't quantified.

Why? There's just no way Serge Ibaka would sign in Detroit to play next to Drummond? He'd be much more involved in the offense here than OKC and we're makin' the playoffs next year.
