Don't think Denver has the assets for a Cousins trade without a third team.

Just threaten to take Hield at 7 and demand Ben and the Kings pick in return.

dozencousins wrote:I will say this . Though I am not implying by any means Rose gets dealt to us he has $21,323,252 remaining for 1 season . I agree with others he is on a serious decline and a risk . That said first we need more defensive minded players and second more players that create more points than turnovers on the plus minus category if we gain in production in these 2 categories we will gain alot more wins and be a much better team .
Next if you get Rose if we are smart we get back that future # 1 pick owed and that is a big to our future draft & trade abilities if needs be . He could play like a rock star and their is no way us or any team resigns him to any new deal even close to what he makes now so we either get him resigned far cheaper if he plays well & shows promise to his health or we cut ties and have his $23 plus million as cap space for the following season .
We also gain by though trading some of our defensive & turn over prone liabilities we gain by them no longer being a King . That allows us to have roster spots for more team orientated , more defensive minded and less turn over prone type players . That is a gain of taking on a possible minus to rid yourselves of multiple liability type players and gaining roster spots for the type of players you want that fit these descriptions and again if Rose doesn't work out you deal with it for the 1 season and you gain later plus I am sure he could be bought out at the trade deadline of it came down to that . There is the general logic from the Kings perspective of why you would consider trading for Rose .

The thought of the Kings trading for Rose scares me to death. As if the Rondo experiment wasn't bad enough, now they want to double down with a guy that's even worse than Rondo right now?
The part about the cap space seems like a really silly idea to me. The Kings have NEVER brought in a big name Free Agent to Sacramento in 30+ years of basketball here. Why would they need to give up yet another major asset (I'm assuming in this scenario we would be trading the #8 pick and taking back Rose in order to get next year's pick back?) to clear more Cap Space?!? Do they think they're going to get Westbrook next summer or something? Cap Space is only valuable if it's in the right hands, and nothing this Front Office has done has me convinced that they could even use that $23 Million properly.
Instead of constantly giving up young assets that we have long-term control over in order to bring in aging veterans, why don't they just rebuild the right way? Just one time. Keep the young assets, but just use them properly. We can control a 1st round pick for up to 9 years! Why give that up without even giving it a chance so they can rent a guy that is CLEARLY washed up due to multiple catastrophic injuries for ONE season? Derrick Rose is not going to put this team on his shoulders and carry them to the playoffs. In fact, there's a pretty good chance that he played the Bulls out of the playoffs this season.
And if they are so concerned with getting our 2017 1st back, then why the hell did they trade away an Uprotected 1st in 2019!!?!? That's probably the most bizarre part about any potential Chicago trade that I haven't seen discussed. There are so many rumors swirling around about the Kings getting our pick back from Chicago. Nobody can tell me why they are so concerned about it now, when not even a year ago they gave away an Unprotected pick in a Draft that could very well prove to be MUCH more valuable than the 2017 pick AND they gave up swap rights for 2016 and 2017!!! If they are concerned enough about it that they will pay a hefty price to get it back (and if Chicago is as smart as I think they are they WILL get max value for the pick rights), then what the hell was that Philly trade all about?
Bottom line is that these guys scare me. I like Vlade a lot, and he seems to be having a great start to this summer, but I am not confident at all in his ability to make big moves like this right now. I am also not confident in Vivek's savvy (or lack thereof) as an owner to keep himself out of the basketball OPS side. I feel like Vivek would want a big NAME like Rose to open up his new arena and would disregard the fact that Derrick Rose is no longer the Derrick Rose we all used to love. Basically, these guys making big moves gives me serious anxiety as a fan. Please just scout properly (for one time as a franchise let's avoid the whole Jimmer Fredette over Kawhi/Klay thing this time), find the right guy at #8 or trade down for more assets. Don't overthink it. Don't convince yourselves you're smarter than the rest of the NBA and do something crazy or splashy. Just be smart!!!
Sorry for the rant. Not directed at you, unless you're telling your source that we should acquire Derrick RoseI just hope the Front Office gets it's **** together. I'm tired of watching this team lose, but I would much rather see them lose smart than lose dumb. Mortgaging the future for a team that wins 33 games is really stupid. I would much rather make smart, shrewd moves and win 23 games.

Can't see DEN having any interest in this honestly.

dozencousins wrote:Bucks heard of a possible Gay & Koufas for Monroe & M.Carter Williams in some kind of deal . Though I personally like Monroe I am not sure it would work with Cousins and WCS . I feel WCS will get and needs as well as deserves more minutes next season and unless we were willing to trade Cousins which I don't think will happen then it would not make a ton of sense to me .
( I do not think it happens just My opinion though )
