Yeah this isn't exactly surprising. I would think it's more likely he's moved after teams strike out in free agency though.

My gut feeling is still that Milwaukee keeps him but we'll see.

Monroe for a heavily protected 2017 1st after the best centers have gone in free agency would seem to make sense.

doesn't surprise me much. I know this forum(and the media) like to hype up how valuable picks are because of the cheap contracts but that's really only true if you hit on a player--and the draft will always be a crapshoot when the best prospects come out prematurely and so there is a lot of guesswork.

Some teams will give up the higher ceiling for a proven player rather than risk the floor.

Which teams with the picks, you mean?

#3 is Boston
#6 is New Orleans
#12 is Utah
#20 is Indy
#22 is Charlotte
#27 is Toronto
#28 is Phoenix

Not many surprises there.

Tbh I'm not terribly surprised about this phenomenon, because I'm starting to think that the real world NBA isn't very excited about this draft after you get out of the top 2 guys or so.

Two picks were traded at the draft last year: one with only top-8 protection for an injured RFA-to-be (trade rescinded), and one with only top-9 protection for Markieff Morris of all people.

Maybe that was shrewdness on the part of the sellers or desperation on the part of the buyers...or maybe people just don't care about the 2016 draft very much.

If Dunn is the target, BOS may need some convincing to let the #3 go. This probably means that PHI thinks PHX is taking Dunn 4, or is sending the pick to a different team that will take Dunn at 4 (CHI, maybe?), and I think it has been widely reported that Thibs likes Dunn at 5 for Minny, so PHI may need to get to 3
