Nikola Milutinov to play in summer league

Post#1 » by Nolan » Mon Jun 20, 2016 6:39 pm

http://projectspurs.com/2016-articles/marjanovic-milutinov-to-sit-out-serbia-olympic-qualifiers.html

As for Milutinov, he has decided not to play in the Qualifiers in hopes of earning his first NBA experience by participating with the Spurs’ Summer League team. The Spurs’ Summer League team will participate in both the Utah Summer League from July 4-7 and then the Las Vegas Summer League from July 8-18.

Until the rosters are made public, it’s unknown if Milutinov will play in one or both of the Spurs’ Summer League teams.

I know this kind of old news but I'm excited to see him play against other NBA caliberish players this summer. It'll be a good test to see if he's ready and hopefully he is cause we could use him.

Depends on who leaves/retires. We could have room for him but he still has two years left on his deal in Greece.

Doesn't he have a reasonable buyout for this summer for his euro contract?

Yup. I believe it's 650,000 but don't quote me on that.

That's a reasonable number (that's the number I heard as well).... If he looks good this summer I think he has a real chance to come over...

Hopefully he does well, but even if he doesn't him playing summer league will at least be a step in the right direction.

Hey guys, do you know what is the SA plan with Nikola for the next season ??? I know Spurs scout was recently in Europe following him. He's playing very well right know, since Patric Young was being out due to injury , that opened much more minutes for him, actually I think Milutinov is much better and talented player than both Young and Birch , competition at his club, but Olympiacos had so much success with American undersized centers recently , winning euroleague few times, that's their identity . I am very high on Milutinov, he's athletic for 7 footer center , he has a soft touch around basket , can hit shots from mid range , good passer , good help defender , I think if he comes to SA next season , he will surprise many people.

Not sure what the plan is for him. Hopefully he comes over this summer.

Just to update you guys, Nikola is playing very good ball lately, today he had a very strong game against arguably the strongest team in Europe Real Madrid . This kid is another San Antonio steal , I think he will be with SA next season :)

1 of these must happen for nikola to make it to the team
-pau opting out and leaving for better deal
-lma traded
-dedmon leaving in FA
-lee opting out and leaving for better deal

dont know why they sign joel when that last spot on the roster coulve been better spent experimenting on someone else...insurance for 1 of the bigs if they get injured, but still he didnt do much in the games he got minutes...

Return to San Antonio Spurs
