Uh, what? Since when is a hardworking, good kid that donates a ton of time and money to local charities a headcase? The guy lives in the gym and has only said nice things. What the hell are you talking about?

Without mentioning the irony of trading for D'angelo Russell

Really? Thats very disappointing if true especially since it seems like Dunn will be gone before we pick.

I can totally see us passing on Bender. He's a player that is at least 2 years away from being an impactful contributor....and we all know that's not the route Thibs wants to go. Thibs wants to get older and more experience, not younger and less experienced, and out of all the prospects, Bender is the youngest.

To be honest, I'll be shocked if we make a pick at 5. I just have a gut feeling a trade will go down. If we don't trade, I think it'll be whoever's left out of Murray, Dunn and Hield (hopefully not Jaylen Brown but I could see it).

I would ve disapponited if we draft only for win now. If all goes well we wouldn't select in the top 7-8 anymore and we have 27M to bring in free agents this year and next year another cap jump, KG retiring and we can even stretch pek if he not opts for a medical retirement.

Why not Jaylen Brown?
He is 19, talented and great athlete.
A duo of Wiggins and Brown can dominate in the wings, in both offense and defense.

Jaylen sucks. He's all athlete and very little skill everywhere else.
LaVine and Wiggins trumps any Wing duo in this draft.
It's weird when talking about LaVine. Seems like everyone has forgotten about him and acts as if we don't have a shooting guard.

As RationalGaze said, Brown is all athlete...you could even say ONLY athlete with very few basketball skills. He was waaaaaay too inconsistent this past year, even for a freshman. I just don't see him translating to anything more than a freaky athletic wing at the end of someone's bench.

I think Brown will be a better defender as rookie, especially if Thibs is coaching him, than Winslow and Stanley Johnson were this year. Not a great shooter but neither was Kawhi Leonoard who shot 20% as a freshman and 29% as a sophomore at SDSU. Now he is shooting 45% from NBA range. Some guys shot's look pretty broken like Simmons and I don't think he will ever be a great shooter but I can definitely see Brown developing an effective J. He is very raw but I think he would have just as big of an impact as Murray or Hield would on this team, just on the opposite end. I also like Brown's chances of developing into scorer a lot better than either of those two's chances of ever becoming impact defenders.

Either way I don't think any of those three will ever be starters on this team due to Lavine and Wiggins.

Brown in theory would be a fit in that he's an athletic freak that could guard bigger SFs and small ball PFs. However, he was not good at Cal. Pelton's stat projections don't put him in the top 100 of this draft and Pelton basically said no lotto pick has become an above average NBA player after that type of freshman season.

I still hope for Bender based on fit. Besides him, no one is a great fit position wise. I guess I hope for Murray because shooting is so important but I don't think he can play heavy minutes with Lavine as both would struggle to guard SFs.

He had better freshman season as a one and done than Myle's Turner, Andre Drummond, Steven Adams or Zach Lavine IMO.

I agree that he is not the biggest need of this team because of the fact that we have Lavine.
But we can have a 3 man rotation in the wings for many years.
We can just trade Shabbaz and someone else for a good power forward or a good pg.

I think that Jaylen Brown is a better version of Justice Winslow.

Not according to statistical models like Pelton's that project players as NBA players.

I like Dunn but this could very well be Ainge trying to up the value of the Celtics' pick.

From an analytics perspective, Brown apparently does not project well due to his subpar rebounding, assist, and and shooting %'s. I know Kevin Pelton, for one, is really down on Brown.

Klomp rules
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

Wasn't Klomp the #1 Stauskas fan?

Absolutely nothing at all, which is strange. I'm guessing that means Thibs likes him and wants to keep everyone tight-lipped.

Same with Phoenix. I see Boston fans are waiting to hear. Wonder if they will hear anything, though it may not be the truth according to what they've mentioned in the past (said Marcus Smart had a great workout when it was terrible, so they brought him back and he was better).
