Yeah, we went to see Hield in LA and we had a private workout with Murray...but unannounced and closed.

Hmmm...in that case I'd say it's a toss up between Bender, Chriss and Murray.

According to someone who should know, Kentucky guard Jamal Murray wants to play for the Timberwolves.

That info came up when Calipari was asked how Murray would fit with Karl-Anthony Towns, the Kentucky Wildcat taken by the Wolves with the No. 1 overall pick last year.

“Who is Mr. Towns?’ Calipari joked. “That KAT kid? OK, well, here’s what I would say. [Wolves president of basketball operations and coach Tom Thibodeau] and I are great friends. He helped my career, helped me basketball-wise and every other way. I’m a big fan of Thibs. Jamal? I’m saying this to you and no one else. He loves Minnesota. As a matter of fact, that’s where he’d like to go.’’

Murray is gunna have a hard time turning the corner in the NBA. Wouldn't touch him in the Top 10. DLo's first step looks explosive in compariosn

Meh. That's not much better than Keef. And there were only 3 7-footers in the history to average 5 assists per game: Wilt, KAJ and Divac. I don't think Bender is joining this club.

So you just want a scorer? I know you like Murray but that's really all he does. Then there is Chriss, and I don't think you can peg any sort of scoring upside with him. Not that you really can with Bender either. I'd just like someone who can play defense and has length and can switch and guard out on the perimeter as well. I think Chriss COULD get there and be really good, but I think Bender probably will be better at that with his length.

Well, I think that with a top-5 pick you should aim to draft a guy with star potential and I'm not sure Bender has that star potential. Also, IMO defense is much "cheaper" than offense. I think it's much harder to sign or trade for a top-end scorer than it is to land a very good defender. I don't see much in terms of offense from Bender. Dragan can't create his own shot at all right now and he was a mediocre scorer even in youth competition, where he was the biggest guy on the floor.

He is basically an unathletic version of Lavine who posted some ridiculous splits after the All-Star break, I think he is on par with Booker as a prospect.

If bender avg 15 - 6 - 4 - 1 - 1 ever in his career i would be elated. Sounds like a perfect fit to me. teams have done a lot worse in better drafts with higher picks.

Sunsbum said that was not going to be a problem. If that is the case, Chriss becomes more intriguing. According to Ford is his ceiling star potential?

If Chriss was more of a natural wing with plus size and a willing passer with a tighter handle putting it on the deck he would be a nightmare mismatch. But I'm just not seeing it

Gambo just said that the Suns have narrowed their choices down to Bender, Chriss, Murray, and Hield. Then he said if Dunn is still available at pick four, the Suns will consider trading their pick because there are teams that think Dunn is a franchise point guard and want to trade up for him. He also said he thinks the Suns will take Chriss if the Suns keep the pick.

TWolves GM Scott Layden says he expects a lot of movement on Thursday night. A lot of teams calling them on #5

As much as I'd dislike the pick, Chriss fits the McD mold. Pick the guy with the physical tools and hope he learns how to play basketball.

Meh.

I figured maybe the first three. I'd be a little surprised with Hield. Sounds like the same thing he said last time except he added last time on your Gambo report that he didn't think it was going to be Bender and that he really thought of the other three it would be Chriss.

How is that the McD mold? TJ and Booker definitely knew how to play basketball and I don't know that I'd describe them as having physical tools. Same with Ennis. And probably Bogdan. Don't know how to describe Len. I guess you could say that about Len.

The only guy you can definitely say that about is Archie.

Murray seems like the McD mold.

Other than Archie, nobody who McD drafted don't fits that mold. Warren and Booker are exact opposite.

They will CONSIDER trade, meaning if they get a young stud or some kind of really nice package from someone like the Kings maybe. I'm guessing they won't get what they would be looking for.

Well if Sunsbum said it wasn't going to be a problem, I'm all on board. Actually if Bender is gone, I'd rather go with Chriss than the others. The upside to me is really intriguing. I wouldn't be terribly upset if it was Chriss over Bender. If it was a guard or Brown over Bender, that would be a different story. Ultimately I would be fine with a guard though and hope for the best. I go back and forth with Hield and Murray. I guess I'd prefer Murray...I just wish one could pass. I would roll the dice with Chriss and pick up LeVert later. At least he is a good passer and shot better than Murray and similar to Hield.
