When are we ever again going to be available to secure a 7'1" big man that moves like a SF? When are we ever again going to be available to secure a talent like that?
We don't need another guard that can't shoot (Dunn) or small forward that can't shoot either (Brown). Those are Ainge type picks: tough athletes. He always selects the tough athlete.
We need to swing for the **** fence and try to land a superstar and take a flyer on Bender. He is so uber talented and humble, I doubt he ever busts, but we got to take the chance.
Don't get another rotation guy -- go for the gold and let the chips fall where they may.
BENDER OR BUST!
I saw segment on NBA TV last night on Bender. Lets just say I was less than impressed. They were saying he's similar to Kukoc and a few other less than impressive Euros. He's soft, has no fire and was injured most of the year (which is why his minutes were limited). He might be a nice player and he might be Darko. PASS
Watch this excellent piece that SI just did on him and tell me if you have the same perspective afterwards.

Yeah, I still don't see it. He's very passive on the court for a guy with his size and skills. All of those clips show him dominating against much smaller (and young) players. I'm not sure how he is going to do against man-sized NBA players. From what I can see he's a project and a crap shoot. The best comparison I've heard is that he's similar to Miocic.
