He didn't mention the #4 pick. He just said said the Suns may not mind moving Brandon Knight. He never implies any talks of knight/4 for Okafor.

He did imply it, because he prefaced it by mentioning the Sixers' desire to get into the top 8, and the next pick after Boston would be the Suns, and also mentioned the Sixers wanting "additional assets" plus top 8 picks for their bigs so the implication is there.

Then once we draft them, the illusion of promise diminishes and we face the reality that the rookie has a long way to go before being the player they are hyped to be. While we know Jah and Noel are much experienced players and are better prospects than anyone with the 3rd overall pick, I see atleast no change in their value.
With that said, I do think celtics is in panic mode to dispose that 3rd overall pick. Some rumors said they weren't impressed with Bender while Dunn doesn't want to play their. Hield and Murray are said to be reach with the 3rd overall pick. And again, I don't think there are any players with the 3rd overall pick that is in the same tier with both our bigs as prospects.

Excellent post and totally agree. From a report I read out of Boston, Bender had a horrible workout either for them or one that they witnessed. Meanwhile, Boston absolutely needs a big man and Bender was the only one that might have made any sense at #3. In the end, I just find it comical if anyone in their right mind would suggest that Boston wouldn't select Okafor or Noel at #3 if they were in this draft. Granted, Noel's contract situation muddies the water a bit, but I still believe that Okafor is the guy they want anyway. So, I think Boston continues to try and see if they can acquire a veteran star type for the 3rd pick, but as they are learning, no one is going to part with a star type player for the 3rd pick in a 2 player draft. Just the same, everyone knows that Philly needs guards and swingmen and that their most likely trade bait is either Okafor or Noel. I think that hurts Philly as it relates to most teams, but I'm not sure about with Boston or Phoenix. Much like with Boston, Phoenix is much more loaded in the backcourt than they are upfront and acquiring a big man makes sense for them as much as it does for Boston.
Colangelo just has to realize that Rome was not built in a day and that he has a zillion dollars in cap room, picks galore, and time to see the 76ers improve. Hell, any improvement constitutes success based on last year. On the flipside, Boston is in purgatory now and Phoenix is also a player or two upfront away from taking another step forward. In my estimation, Philly should be the team with the leverage. Let Boston and Phoenix pick from a trio or quartet of guards to add to teams that already are loaded at guard. It would be akin to Philly taking another center.

-Philly has offered Okafor or Noel for the #3 pick and Boston has declined.
-Boston is more interested in Noel than Okafor.
-Boston is more interested in Okafor than Noel.
-Philly cannot get a pick within the top 5 for Okafor.
-Philly is asking too much for Okafor in addition to the #3 pick.
-Philly will not accept only the #3 from Boston as being offered and want an additional sweetener.
-Boston desperately wants to move out of the #3 pick, but has struck out in all attempts to acquire a veteran.
-Philly desperately wants to trade back into somewhere within the top 8.
In any case, I'm sure I'm missing many other supposed rumors here, which only leads me to believe that the only one who has a clue is Woj, who hasn't reported anything yet. My guess is that the teams are talking and have exchanged proposals, with very few knowing the actual details. I would hope that Colangelo will accept nothing less than the #3 for Okafor (and I guess Noel) and simply move on if Boston balks. With Ainge, I fully expect that he's trying to lowball Colangelo, as he does with every other team in the NBA, but with Philly, he shouldn't have any leverage, so Colangelo best not fold. I'd rather just wait and I can only hope Colangelo is of the same mindset. Boston on the other hand is a very good player away from taking another step forward and has a dearth of good big men. Philly is not going to be very good for at least a couple of years in any case, so why panic?
Crap reports flying everywhere. If I'm Philly, I don't give more than Okafor for #3. If I'm Boston, I wouldn't give more than the #3 for Okafor. The values are comparable, so either side could easily just move on to something else. I don't believe any of the conflicting "reports"coming out.
