Lakers, Magic, Pistons To Pursue Al Horford In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons are amongst the teams who intend to pursue Al Horford this offseason.

Horford has become even more valuable over the past few seasons with his improved three-point shooting and versatility on defense.

Horford can sign with the Atlanta Hawks for five years and 7.5 percent raises whereas any rival team can only offer him four seasons guaranteed.

Horford is coming off an extension he signed with the Hawks in 2010.

Would the line-up be Vucevic/Horford/Gordon/Oladipo/Payton?

Or does Horford make Vucevic expendable? Or knock Gordon out of the starting line-up? Someone help me out here.

I would rather see Horford at C and Gordon at PF most of the time.

Vucevic off the bench is our most ideal situation.

Horford and Vuc are not playing together on a lineup except spot minutes if we didn't trade Vuc.

Yeah that's what I don't really get. If we're pursuing Horford, are we pursuing Vucevic trades, too?

I believe that if we pick him up.... It'll at the least initially start with the intent of starting horrors and vuc together. But will settle with vuc possibly going to the bench if a combination of Gordon and horford begins to flourish. And note.... Vuc looked amazing off the bench and I would not mind him being the first man off the bench. But I believe him and hordord will produce a strong lineup under vogel

It doesn't make sense to me to trade Vucevic if we add Horford since its just a slight improvement if any at all. Horford isn't exciting to me in the least bit.

Play him at PF. SVG saw the light on playing Tobias at PF in the playoffs. I have a feeling Tobias ends up as a 6th man for them by the end of next season.

Al & AG could have similar defensive production as Al & Milsap did defending the paint. Vooch to the bench to dominate teams second units like he did coming off injury last season.

Teague being traded might mean the end of the current Hawks unless they are counting on keeping the core and hand the keys of the team to Schroeder. This is going to be a fun summer.
