I don't know WTF we're doing but they better have a damn good plan this off season, Free up Money but who is going to come to Chicago?

I do like Grant though, don't care for Lopez at all but I'm just confused

This surely means that they are keeping Butler. This can also mean a return of Pau with Calderon as their PG and a perfect front court pair in Lopez

His career is far from over. He could easily make the HOF still.

Not saying I'd project it or anything. Just saying that nothing he's done so far would eliminate it from possibility.

We can pretty much expect the Knicks to sweep us next year. Rose is going to play like a mad man.

I love how both Knicks fans and Bulls fans seem to be very unhappy with this trade. lol

I believe it was probably in both parties best interests for a parting of ways, but after the hope he gave this franchise for his first few seasons... just the way this has all played out... what a damn shame.

Unbelievable really when you look at Derrick Rose and the Bulls in 2011 versus now, just five years later.

I wish that we could at least have gotten a first rounder!! and NO WAY this FO is done making moves. For sure Noah is gone, but could Pau stay now that we have a fellow Spaniard?

I know the yield is disappointing, but probably the best move. Rose doesn't really fit the modern nba of moving without the ball. He's also had some severe attitude issues the last several years. From the Knicks perspective its a total flyer but could pay off is Rose can return to form. Would have liked at least one pick but its a testament to his lack of value.

This is an absolute joke of a trade. The Knicks of all teams? I'd rather have just let Rose sit out the year, than do this. His career is not over, he is going to be better this year than last, and this FO will be fired at the end of next year. That is the only silver lining to this, GarPax days are numbered.
Who needs to see when the Bulls aren't on?

The worst part of this trade is that the Bulls traded Justin Holiday.

Also must mean that Noah is gone.

Also must mean we're targeting PGs in the draft.

SUPERB trade for us.

Robin Lopez - Center is set for 3 more years.
Jerian Grant - He can be a player in this league soon. It helps that his uncle is Special Advisor to Michael Reinsdorf.
Calderon - Also will be a surprise to many posters here.

The ball will be alive and well. No more earth penetrating dribbling.
For love, not money.

I understand we need to move Rose but how this benefit the Bulls in term of financial and roster wise? Because I don't see it benefit at all with the returns we have.

GREAT trade. We got a starting-quality defensive minded center on a three year contract that is extremely team friendly under the new salary cap, and a young PG who is as good as a mid-round pick in this year's draft.

You were expecting what exactly? Either this or you guys probably lose him for nothing.

Solid move to start getting younger. You guys will like Lopez and this can hopefully start off a mini-rebuilt/retool that the Bulls desperately need. I think it's great the Bulls decided to be proactive about fixing the roster instead of just doing what most teams do and lose players for nothing.

A guy walking and using his 20 million in cap space in free agency for a player or players next year isn't nothing. An average at best center, a long in the tooth point guard and disappointing combo guard is less than just letting a player expire. You don't make a deal just to make a deal because someone is expiring.
Losing to get high draft picks and hoping they turn into franchise players is not some next level, genius move. That's what teams want to happen in any rebuild/tank or whatever you want to market it as.
