this trade doesn't NOT benefit kristaps porzingis(our franchise player) and does not benefit the knicks long term.

It does though. It consolidates assets and allows NYK to take on bench players with more promise than Calderon and Grant. As early as next season, Rolo's contract would've been a bad one. This trade allows flexibility moving forward. Its the agility Phil thought he was getting with the original Tyson Chandler trade.

This is a contract year for Rose...I expect him to have his best season since his injury. I think he'll be motivated to ball out on the Garden stage.

Rose can be a high reward for the Knicks and i guess his character plus the fact that he has an expiring contract makes this a good salary dump at most.

LOL love all you negative ass knicks fans. what is the downside to this trade?

We gave up Robin Lopez and 2 bums for Rose who is on a short contract. We give up ZERO future assets and actually get a draft pick back. we get rid of Calderon(which makes this trade even more worth it). We don't lose any cap space for this offseason and this actually helps our cap space into next years offseason. And this trade really might entice some free agents THIS offseason.

Sign me up for this trade. good job Phil
