Game: 2016 NBA Free Agency Predictions

Post#1 » by LBPTarHeel27 » Sun Jun 19, 2016 1:13 am

I have done this a couple times in the past and it is always fun to see who can predict the moves that are going to be ahead of us. I will give you a list of free agents and your job is to tell us where they end up. In addition, you can predict a trade (or multiple) that will go down this offseason. When it comes to the trade, feel free to post as much detail as you would like. A correct answer is based on the "headliner" of the trade. Deadline is July 1st...just copy and paste the list. It'll make it easier to grade.

League-Wide FA's
1. LeBron James:
2. Kevin Durant:
3. Hassan Whiteside:
4. DeMar DeRozan:
5. Mike Conley:
6. Al Horford:
7. Dwight Howard:
8. Pau Gasol:
9. Chandler Parsons:
10. Rajon Rondo:
11. Nicolas Batum:
12. Al Jefferson:
13. Ryan Anderson:
14. Luol Deng:
15. Joakim Noah:
16. Bismack Biyombo:
17. Festus Ezili:
18. Kent Bazemore:
19. Ian Mahinmi:
20. Mirza Teletovic:

Bonus/Our Free Agents:
1. Evan Fournier:
2. Jason Smith:
3. Dewayne Dedmon:
4. Brandon Jennings
5. Ersan Ilyasova
6. Andrew Nicholson

Trades:

Scoring Details...
For players 1-20 on the league-wide list, if you correctly predict a player leaving his previous team for a new destination, it is worth 10 pts. If you correctly predict any of those players resigning with their team, it is worth 5 pts. When it comes to our own guys, any correct answer is worth 2 pts (coming or going).

In order to correctly predict a trade, the "headliner" must be traded. You can say something as simple as "Derrick Rose will get traded" or do a full trade breakdown. As long as you declare Derrick Rose as the "headliner", you will get 20 pts. However, if you predict a player to get traded and he doesn't, you will lose 5 pts.

League-Wide FA's
1. LeBron James: CLE
2. Kevin Durant: OKC
3. Hassan Whiteside: DAL
4. DeMar DeRozan: TOR
5. Mike Conley: DAL
6. Al Horford: HOU
7. Dwight Howard: ATL
8. Pau Gasol: GSW
9. Chandler Parsons: ORL
10. Rajon Rondo: NYK
11. Nicolas Batum: CHA
12. Al Jefferson: CHA
13. Ryan Anderson: LAL
14. Luol Deng: MIA
15. Joakim Noah: NYK
16. Bismack Biyombo: TOR
17. Festus Ezili: BOS
18. Kent Bazemore: DAL
19. Ian Mahinmi: ORL
20. Mirza Teletovic: WAS

Bonus/Our Free Agents:
1. Evan Fournier: ORL
2. Jason Smith: ORL
3. Dewayne Dedmon: ORL
4. Brandon Jennings: MEM
5. Ersan Ilyasova: DET
6. Andrew Nicholson: PHI

Trades:
Derrick Rose will get traded. I think he will end up in New York with Melo. Something based around Rose for Lopez + Afflalo + Grant + 2018 First Round Pick. Chicago mitigates the loss of Noah in FA, acquires a SG to compliment Butler, and a young PG prospect to come off the bench.

Kevin Love will get traded. Boston seems to be the logical destination but I wouldn't rule out LAL. I think LA could make a solid offer...if you agree that Love's value on the trade market is very low. Something like Bass + Young + Lou Will for Love. It would allow Cleveland to replace JR Smith with the combo of Lou Will + Nick Young. Both of those guys are in need of new scenery. Brandon Bass can provide just as much as Love did for Cleveland. Perfect world for LA, they grab Kevin Love in a trade and then Rondo in FA. Those two would work well together. Russell provides something different. Add Ingram to the mix and you have a team that is capable over overachieving (not contending).

3 days ago and you almost nailed the trade 100%!

By hoopshype they show interest in Kent Bezmore ( 6'4 without shoes ,can't really shoot well ), Eric Gordon- 6'3 shooting guard that is always hurt, they have NO meeting with Conley or Parsons yet, and they have meeting with 36 years old Jamal Crawford.

So Hezonja can go kick rocks i guess. And Fournier will be gone if somebody offers max.

I really liked Henny, but if this is his " vision" of future F him , should be fired. They invested SOME time in Oladipo ( 3 years ), zero years in Hezonja and Gordon and ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD IN FREAKING PAYTON WHO SHOWN LITTLE TO NO TALENT TO BE STARTER LET ALONE STAR.
