That said, is this the time to trade bled for okafor + future pick? Just draft Dunn ourselves?

One FA name not mentioned much anywhere is Ryan Anderson. Seems a while back he was the ideal pf for us. And I am still anticipating a Jordan Hill inquiry.

If Jeff Teague on an impending pay day was able to get the 12th pick, I'm sure we can get something of value for Brandon Knight. It's not going to be as valuable as the Lakers' pick next year, but it won't be chopped liver if we trade him.

The point is how McMully values him... He cost us a valuable pick. And furthermore, a team must want him. There is only 2-3 teams left in the PG market.

I didn't really consider anyone that made trades thus far to be in the PG market besides the Knicks. If anything I'd argue there are less teams now that will trade their PGs, especially with the Teague talks floating around for awhile now. The Pacers/Hawks/Jazz trade was basically just swapping around point guards on the last year of their contract for a pick for the Hawks anyways. I won't speculate on what we/other teams think is value is his value, especially since we really have no clue and are guessing what it is until he's traded, if he's traded.

Hear the 76ers are looking for a vet PG. How about Bledsoe and PJ Tucker for Noel and Covington? Then trade Knight for the 8th pick and take Chriss, and take Dunn with the 4th. Roll out with this lineup next year:

Dunn/13th pick
Booker/Goodwyn (or Bogdan if he comes over)
Covington/Warren
Len/Chriss/Leur
Noel/Chandler

just remember earlier this year when:

Knight became just the fourth NBA player to record at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists and four steals since the steals statistic became official in 1973-74. The others are Pete Maravich (1975), Magic Johnson (1981) and Russell Westbrook (March of last season). The only other Sun to collect 30 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists in a game was Charlie Scott more than 40 years ago (1972).

and remember Brandon Knight is only 24 years old!!!!!

Trade #13 and Knight for Millsap?
Not sure if that gets it done, we might need to part with the #4 for the Sapper.

Millsap is a Top 5 PF in the game. Would be awesome here and would vault us to playoff contention next season.

EDIT:

Knight, #28 and #34 to Sacremento

#8 and #13 to ATL

Millsap to Phoenix?

His game doesnt rely on athleticism. The man has many solid years left in him. Unlike Chandler, Millsap has actual basketball skill which will be servicable even as he ages.

Lebron, LaMarcus Aldridge... Two guys who are 31 and playing a big part in their teams success

Players 30 & over should be the last thing this team brings in. If you want to try to contend, copy the Blazers philosophy last summer. Bring in a bunch of under the radar guys 25 & younger. Millsap may be good for a year or two.

But those teams have established great players and are competing for titles.....

Sure, but this team isn't close to contending. Lebron is a different animal. LMA has 2-3 good years left. Millsap is a stop-gap.

How did you feel about us potentially maxing out thirty year old Lamarcus Aldridge last offseason? I bet yall were on board with that move hey.

For what it's worth, I personally view Millsap as a superior player to Lamarcus. But that may just be me.

I understand both your points completely JMac and Cactus, but I politely disagree.

Yes, but we also thought the team was closer to contending. LA is a better player too.

Don't get me wrong. Millsap is a nice player. But, LA was the top FA last summer.

Garnett was also 31 when he was traded to the Celtics. Ray Allen was 32.

We pull off the Millsap trade, then move #4 for another big name vet, and we are in business if that's the way Sarver wants to go.

#4, TJ Warren and Chandler for Marc Gasol.

Alex Len, #28 for Victor Oladipo

Resign Mirza,

Gasol/FA/Williams
Millsap/Mirza
Booker/PJ/Bembry
Oladipo/Booker
Bledsoe/Price

Honestly, i like the trade for the Knicks.

Former MVP, had a down season after coming back from surgery, the kid still has some game left, just when he came back from injury the team wasnt his anymore, it was Butlers. Still had some awesome games and is a definite improvement over Calderon. Lopez wasnt all that and with word that Howard wants to sign with the Knicks, Rose/????/Melo/Porgz/D12 is already looking like a huge improvement. Like i said, i like it.

I think Millsap is better too. I wouldn't mind bringing in Millsap mostly due to the sake that I know they are going to try to bring in some vets to make the playoffs, and I'd rather it be him than some avg guy or maxing out Barnes.

But the biggest problem with him is he only has one year left and then a player option, which you know he will opt out of. So again, we'd be trading for a guy for a year of his services in all likelihood.

Something McD would probably do to save his job but it isn't the best thing for the franchise going forward.

Also, Atlanta likely wants to compete and felt Schroeder was ready. I think they bring back the same core, and add someone like Sabonis to help out off the bench when Horford or Millsap sit. Or maybe they go for Poeltl or Ellenson if they are there.

But they basically could just get better and now can add a lottery pick and add someone who can likely contribute right away. But they could also go SG and get someone like Korkmaz or a wing and get Luwawu. I think they are in pretty good shape to compete.

No one is likely to beat the Cavs soon, but most teams still want to make the playoffs over there.

I think it will end up a wash for both teams. Rose is near the end imo. Dude just cant stay healthy. The Knicks are a treadmill team anyway with current Rose & Melo. The Bulls got a decent return. Lopez is solid. Bottom tier playoff team in the East.

Btw, Howard on that team would be hilarious. Train wreck waiting to happen.
