Small ball

Bledsoe
Buddy
Booker
Barnes
Chandler

All we do in this scenario is draft Buddy and sign Barnes.

Not hard at all:

Bledsoe turns it over 5x in the 1st Half
Buddy reverts back to 'norm' of 37% from 3
Booker gets walked all over by ANY 3 in the league
Barnes get's his 2.5 TRBs per half (and we're worried about Chriss' rebounding?)
And age 34 Chandler huffs-n-puffs his way back and for the down the court and is burnt out by Halftime.

Halftime Score:

Any Team: 66
Suns: 41

Then we bring in the 'bench'...yeah, that'll improve our chances...(Actually, with Len and Tucker in, maybe, but then there's Knight to ruin it all again...

 Another critique but no lineup.......

Oh, you want another line-up? I already gave one a page or two ago...

Bledsoe/Knight/Price
Booker/Jenkins/Goodwin
Warren/TJ
#4/Leuer or Telly/#13
Len/Chandler

If we get Bentil or Carter Jr at 28, I'd be fine with one of them at PF and mover #13 to SF.

But what FA is willing to come here--like as in a decent FA

We know PHI really, really wants him and are trying to force them to trade with BOS to get him. Maybe help out our Buddy Ainge in getting his guy Noel.

Once we know Dunn is going three, we can flip 4 for someone wanting to guarantee a guy we have no interest in (Hield) knowing that one of Chriss or Bender will still be there at say 8 (which I'm sure we could land from Sac for Knight).

Say we take Buddy at #4
Murray goes #5 to Wolves
Chriss goes to #6 at Pelicans?
We can potentially move down to 7 or 8 while still have the chance of drafting one of Chriss,Bender or Brown.

Not bad

Apparently Chriss hasn't even worked out for the Pels. Makes me think they'd prefer a combo forward like Jaylen Brown. Especially when they already have the best PF in the game in Ryan Anderson... I mean, Anthony Davis ;)

In 2 years
Bledsoe
Booker
Luwawu
Bender
Len

Solid, balanced team who run, play switching D and pass the ball.

That's two years? Today......I'd take that team and I am ok with that tomorrow.

I'd take it tomorrow and we might struggle with youth next year but that's fine and then we get a high pick and Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum or Harry Giles. Then we have a really nice future going forward.

If we end up with a lower pick and need a C, there are three projected to go in the lottery next year and there are a bunch of good PGs.

But I am not OK with having Booker fouling out after 15 minute because he is trying to guard small forwards, watching Hield play because a better player is on the bench due to foul trouble and having the get out rebounded by 15 because you have a poor rebounding small forward play power forward. In the end you want a team that sucks now and will suck in two years. I want a team that sucks now but in two years will be in the playoff and maybe moving forward because they are balanced and play together.
Just say no to idiots!!

Also, I can't see us trading Bledsoe when he's been so actively involved in the Phx community this off-season and at basically every Suns event.

Knight I haven't seen at one...

He may not like being a Sun all that much. Almost makes all star game with the Bucks. Gets traded to Phx and plays like crap and gets injured for season as team misses playoffs. Comes back next year and has a year full of injuries on the 4th worst team in the league and they draft a SG which is the position you have been playing and he is the person everyone is talking about.

Would really hate the Chriss pick. I really want the Suns to be like the Spurs someday with a bunch of high iq players that do all the little things and make sacrifices to win games. Lack of effort on defense and rebounding with his talents is inexcusable. This will become real apparent in playoff games.

Also watching these playoffs made me feel that Bledsoe is very valuable in todays league for his defense at pg position. Steph curry was forced to hide every time they played elite guards. so i hope we don't trade him and draft murray.

Chriss does not lack for confidence now. In public forums, Chriss’ stock has been rising since he declared for the draft, but the reality is that NBA teams always were incredibly high on him with projections of an Amar’e Stoudemire-like ceiling. Chriss is 6 feet 10 with hops. He can shoot. He can dribble. He could potentially defend different positions. He is intelligent. He is charming.

Chriss, 18, also is relatively new to basketball and it shows. He has played only five years of organized basketball, which seems obvious now that he fouled out 15 times in 34 games as a Huskies freshman. There also is a maturity issue, not abnormal for a teen and something he addresses without prompting.

“I think I’ve grown up,” Chriss said. “People sometimes say I’m immature and I think that’s a misconception. I think I did grow up a lot during the year and it was just a learning process throughout the season.”

The trick for NBA teams is to decipher whether basketball is Chriss' passion, or just his best means to an end.

The interviews helped teams get a read on that and whether Chriss was as immature as his poor body language with on-court displays of frustration would suggest. In person, Chriss is an engaging talker and shows the smarts of someone who once intended to pursue engineering at Washington.

“It’s not that I want to be liked by people. I just think I’m a likeable person,” Chriss said. “I don’t strive for people to like me. If you don’t like me, you don’t like me. I’m sorry. It’s something I’ve grown up doing. I like talking to people. I’m friendly. But I’ve never been mistaken for not being serious. When I have to handle my business, I’ll handle my business.

“I’m an easygoing person. I’m a hard worker. I’ll be a good teammate. Everything they’ll want to know about me is pretty obvious.”

Coro just said on 910AM that Dunn approached him to speak. He believes his camp is trying to squeeze the Celts to make a trade. He said he asked him about his workout andhis agent stepped in. He said it was weird for him to approach after all of the shenanigans from them.

Woah!!! :o

Report: Suns have interest in drafting Kris Dunn, put Eric Bledsoe on trade block

It looks like Eric Bledsoe's tenure as a member of the Phoenix Suns is setting below the horizon. According to the Sporting News' Sean Deveney, the Suns would like to draft Providence's Kris Dunn with the No. 4 overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft and have begun shopping Bledsoe:

My biggest concern is that he doesn't seem to know how to play basketball yet.

If you can teach him, he becomes a valuable player...if not, he's Tyrus Thomas or Hakim Warrick.

I'm gon be pretty ticked if we pass on Bender. It just makes so much sense, and it's not even like he's a limited-upside player.

Well, Deveney sucks, but if it is true, yes, it's them trying to get someone to trade them for the pick. It's all likely just bogus.

This.

We are going to draft another low IQ player who doesn't know or wants to pass the ball and does not have a clue about being a team player.

Archie Goodwin, Brandon Knight, The Morris Brothers, Gerald Green, Shannon Brown, Michael Beasley......we always have a good pair of players with that mentality ...and now Chriss who seems another player like that. :noway:

He said the Suns table, so I guess NY.

It seems as the Jazz and the Celtics agreed on this:

Hayward X pick3, Smart, Bradley

There is no confirmation, but the news seem legit.

I believe that makes Bender a sure pick at 3 by the Jazz.

Good Player that he can develop
White
European
Real PF with outside shooting, which they lack

If this is true, the Jazz will have Burcs, Burke, Smart and Bradley.

Yup BW. Coro just spoke on everything for 30mins on the radio live. He said nothing of the sort. He said Bled and Knight value is lower than their play because of injuries and Knight having been traded twice already.

The Jazz aren't trading for 2 PG's after they just traded for Hill.

Return to Phoenix Suns
