Reminded me of how good Davis is at rotating and just being in the right place at the right time. His shot didn't look great, but the passes he was making were great, the block he had on Stone might have saved the game. Unfortunately for Stone, that was the only time he seemed to do anything noteworthy in the second half. Valentine of course, was the best player on the court. And it wasn't even a great game by his standards.
I would 100% take Valentine outside of the lottery. I could also see the Kings reach for him at #8.
Davis wouldn't be the worst pick at #9. I just don't think he could contribute much next season. But after a year in the 905, he might be making Masai look pretty smart.
As for Stone, I want no part of him at #27. He looked slow and lazy. At one point Costello and Davis made him look like a confused fool on a pass for a wide open dunk. He just doesn't seem to have much BBIQ at all. Or a motor. He might have been the biggest guy on the floor in this game, but he looked more like a pylon than a player.
Which really makes me wonder what Masai might see in him. Smokescreen? Are we making a trade that nets us some mid-second round picks? We seem to be looking at a bunch of players that won't go in the first round. Er... maybe that is harsh towards Stone. I'm currently projecting him at #30. But after watching this game again, I think I might drop him a bit more.
Thank you for giving your analysis after watching a game and not just highlights (which 90% of this board does)
