Re: Justin Holiday to Knicks - who he?
He's a 27 year old player that has barely gotten playing time his whole career. That's called a throw-in in NBA speak. Worth a look seeing as how he isn't completely hopeless at shooting and makes next to nothing, but he's a guy that we pray is our 14th best player in 2017.

Seems like a good fit. I wonder if he can start on a team with Melo and Rose where he wouldn't be asked to be a secondary ball handler like most other starting 2's.

Re: Justin Holiday to Knicks - who he?
Holiday is an exceptional defender. In his limited time on the Bulls he became our best defender. I'm not sad about losing Rose. I'm sad we included Holiday. A lot of 3&D guys have taken time to develop (Bowen, Barnes, Bell, etc.) and I think Holiday will follow in those guys' footsteps.

I think he could be a really decent back up for us. He had a decent finish with the Bulls last season when he got minutes

Daily News
Meet the other guy the Knicks got in the Derrick Rose trade.
Justin Holiday, a third-year out of the University of Washington, was thrown into the Rose deal Wednesday, which saw the Knicks send veterans Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon and promising rookie Jerian Grant to Chicago.
But the 27-year-old, now on his fifth NBA team, will be out to prove he's no throw-in. Here are six reasons why Holiday could blossom into a Garden favorite - if he sticks around long enough.
Justin Holiday may be considered a throw-in with Derrick Rose, but he can play.

1. Ever heard of John Starks?
Jax takes calculated gamble but Rose has more to lose than Knicks
Ol' No. 3 was an unknown 6-4, 190-pound two guard who went undrafted after college, played in the now-defunct CBA, had a cup of coffee with the Warriors and then blossomed late, at age 25, into an All-Star and a key component of one of the most successful stretches in Knicks history. Holiday is a 6-6, 185-pound two guard who went undrafted after college, played in the NBDL, had a cup of coffee with the Warriors (he was picked up by the Hawks before being traded to the Bulls) and is now a Knick at age 27. The Garden fans, which always love an underdog, adopted and revered Starks. The same can happen for Holiday.
2. He is currently the only Knick with a ring!
Holiday found his NBA footing with the 2015 NBA champion Warriors, playing 59 games and starting four - most notably when Klay Thompson missed five games that season - and appearing in five playoff games. While his contributions weren't heavy, they were, at least, contributions. And he has the jewelry to prove it.

3. He can play some defense. Like, really play defense.
New Knick Derrick Rose also mired in scandal as rape trial looms
Holiday was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at the University of Washington, where he was a teammate of another late-bloomer, Boston Celtics guard and 2016 NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas. In recent years, those organ-fueled "De-FENSE!" chants at MSG haven't meant much. Maybe Holiday could help turn that around.

4. He has hoops in his blood.
Justin Holiday is the brother of Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, who made the NBA All-Star team in 2013. Injuries have slowed him recently, but when healthy, Jrue is a legitimate NBA starting point guard.
5. He kind of looks like a smaller Kevin Durant on the court.
NBA draft 2016 mock draft: Daily News gives you the Top 10 picks
Watch the highlight videos and tell us the spindly Holiday, all arms and legs while running the floor and his quick release from 3-point land don't remind you of the biggest free agent on the market right now, Kevin Durant. This comparison is obvioulsy purely superficial in nature, but Holiday did shoot career-best percentages in his limited time with the Bulls last season (41.3 FG, 43.3 3-PT, 81.5 FT) and posted a career-high 29 points in a game last season.
6. The Knicks don't have many other options at the moment.
Holiday is one of five players the Knicks have under contract right now. That's right, five! If the season started today, Holiday would be forced into their starting lineup alongside Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle O'Quinn. And, while this crop of free agents does have its share of All-Stars and impact players available -- Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard, Mike Conley and Rajon Rondo are at the head of the class -- it is pretty thin at shooting guard. Only DeMar DeRozan is a game-changer, and if he stays with the up-and-coming Raptors, that could leave the door open for a former undrafted defensive ace.

Not bad...thats a lot of arms and legs in there and PAC-12 defensive player of the year is a good thing to know about him. Maybe he could turn into our own Bazemore. I do know there was a good number of Bulls fans that actually didn't like the trade that thought this was the worst part of the trade (the Bulls including Holiday). A lot of love for the guy over there on the Bulls board.

Re: Justin Holiday to Knicks - who he?
Really warming to the idea of Holiday starting if Durant, Fournier, or Wade don't come through.
What's to lose? Doesn't demand the ball. Excellent defender. Can shoot it well enough.
He's basically Kent Bazemore for $20M less.

Phil already said he plans on resigning Thomas and Galloway. Holiday is a nice end of the rotation, locker room guy to have that will get minutes in blow outs.
