The "rumors" are a Reddit post that someone made that became a meme. It's not close to factual.

It makes sense when you look at his statistical decline and the fact they are putting him on the block now. Why wouldn't they keep the team intact when they have to court Durant and Westbrook (next summer) into staying?

I think Ibaka's decline is overrated, similar to RealGM's overreaction that Kevin Love is the worst power forward ever. notice that Ibaka's decline happened during the emergence of Steven Adams and after Enes Kanter was acquired. you pair him back up with Kendrick Perkins and his stats would recover, if for no other reason than being forced to play meaningful minutes with Kendrick Perkins.

His statistical decline, weirdly enough, coincides with him playing more on the perimeter, as well as the rise of the stretch 4, which means he plays further from the basket. Also coincides with Adams's development.

Still ranks as elite in rim protection metrics.

That's disgusting for OKC. Both in terms of the talent they get, but also the long-term money they tie up in backups.

The Ibaka thing is weird, him being able to play as a wing on offense just unlocked their WCF series and allowed them to get away with playing Robertson against Golden State. Him being able to play 3 positions on offense and protect the rim on defense makes him a very valuable thing to have, his price should be through the roof.

Then again, it does fit with Presti's MO to trade veterans for rookie contracts before they have to extend their young pieces. But I'd rather trade Adams than Ibaka, and I love Adams.

I like Jan now that he's had a couple of seasons to figure out being a center. I think he was drafted with people thinking that he'd be an oversized combo-foward with Gallo. As a defender/rim-runner, he could be serviceable.

Jan Veselý would be a wonderful pick-up for Dallas' rotation, he has been great the past couple of years.

It's pretty well-established among Thunder fans that if it came down to that Adams should stay over Serge.

My guess is that if he goes out it's for an established SG, and we'll probably see more of KD at the 4.

LOL, Ibaka is a one yr rental and is UFA next summer, and given he did not play so good last yr does not help, hard for me to gauge his worth. What does OKC want most, cap relief? player?pick? I'd sign and trade Crabbe for him and maybe send Vonleh as well

Don't take this at face value, as the only guy I have contact with ranks Potato/10 on the ladder, but Minnesota has supposedly mulled over making an offer for Serge Ibaka by means of their pick (albeit they do that with everyone, so it is not saying much, haha). His style of play is appealing to quite a few in the organization.
