You're watching a 17 year old playing with 28-30 year old vets banging against pros for years. He will have a while to adjust, and he won't reach his prime fast. After two years I don't expect a stud, but for long term future for the Suns, and in 4-5 years from now, I think he will look pretty damn good.

I've seen Ben Simmons play as a 16 year old against 20+ year olds and he dominated still... it wasnt a formal game, but a full court exhibition type match... but he was going up against semi pro/hopeful players and he looked good.

Bender's development will depend HIGHLY on him gaining enough mass and strength without losing his mobility.

I like it since Bogdan will be able to negotiate his contract next season. Were he coming over on a rookie scale deal I'd not be too excited.

So the deal is Bogdan, #13 and #28 for Chriss? That kid better be damn good, otherwise we traded 3 first round picks for nothing, and one of those 1st round picks is a guy that has been gaining valuable experience in Europe for the last two years. That's ALOT to give up for a guy who may be years away from contributing himself.

Bold move by McD. If either pan out we are in good shape, imagine if both come into their own and Bender can tack on more weight and transition to the 5 eventually?

He didn't want to come over this upcoming season. We didn't want to give him a big contract next season. Simple.
