THON MAKER Y'ALL (Bucks pick him 10th)

Post#1 » by ReasonablySober » Fri Jun 24, 2016 12:32 am

My very first reaction is he'll have flashes, but mostly in the playoffs. He seems like a guy who could benefit from someone like, I don't know, KG? but I don't know what that would actually translate to on the court. His hands seem really bad. Maybe, maybe, if the Bucks ever hire a coach who embraces modern NBA basketball he could have a role because his stroke is solid.

I'm predicting by the '18-'19 season we're wondering if he's worth keeping on the roster vs some D-League castoff from UNLV.

Holy ****. I am absolutely shocked. AND, I am absolutely enamored with the weirdness of this pick.

Rather have him than D. Murray, but man, D. Davis was sitting right there. That one hurts.

We didn't have time to wait for a full rebuild, so we needed to draft a seasoned 27 year old rookie.

Disappointingly intrigued.

Damn, Paul, you called it. Make me feel good about it. Gotta love the sheer athleticism. Preferred this boom/bust pick to Skal, but damn... still a scary pick!

My initial reaction is this guy is 23 years old. It's Yi all over again.

But since I couldn't post this for five minutes, I have to admit to myself that Hammond has gone out on a limb before and nailed it. Thon Maker is a very intriguing prospect. But I loved the Giannis pick. I hate this pick. This is the second straight year the Bucks have taken a guy I don't even view as a first rounder.

I'm just glad it wasn't D. Murray or Ellenson.

Hammond should have been out of the league 3 years ago.
