I get swinging for the fences but this is a bit like closing your eyes while you do it. I'll be stun if he ends up any good.

I need to know how old he is. I don't like it if he's 19. Hate it if he's 21.

Considering that the consensus reaction around here is eerily similar to the night we took Giannis, I'd say that bodes well!

Not to mention he is the next Yi.

because an internet article told you he would be available at 20?

Of course I am not privy to inside information from front offices' around the league, but there weren't any mock drafts that had Maker going higher than 20.

I highly doubt the teams picking 11-19 or so are pissed that we took their guy. I might even be generous in that regard, who knows if he would have even been a 1st round pick.

Milwaukee has to have the strangest identity of all teams in the NBA. I dont even know what the identity is, but I do know its different.

Worst case is a lot worse than Dieng.

Strange you mention this, because I just said the same thing to my fiance. I used to LOVE Milwaukee, now I can't stand it. But my reasoning is because I love the country...I do think Milwaukee does have some aspect of this thinking though. Sudanese, Milwaukee looks like Disney World in comparison.

Until they visit all the other cities in the NBA.

We made these rationalizations after Joe Alexander was selected, so we weren't completely dejected afterward.

I will gladly admit that I was wrong if this kid pans out, SO many things need to fall his way though for that to happen. I hate that we may have picked him because of our Giannis experience.

ETA: Also Kidd wasn't here when we took Giannis, so it might actually have been John's pick....super hate all the Kidd connections.

He's somewhere 19-21.

Smart, hard worker, high motor, good communicator (which we really lack), wants to be an anchor, think he'll be a good player, with considerably more upside. Can't complain.

I'm excited. Davis never excited me as I saw him as Henson 2.0

I wasn't a big Davis fan either as I had similar fears, but I could have gotten on board for Sabonis.

Regardless, I did not want this pick, but it is swing for the fences. If we hit even a double on this we're sitting pretty. If it's a homerun we're like **** ridiculous.

I want Poeltl, he was gone...heard Davis isn't the sharpest tool in the shed......think Thon will be better than Skal.

Huh? The Giannis pick was loved by the vast majority.

Does this Schwartz thing warrant the NBA looking into it?

That's one of the reason I love him for this team. Aside from another long athletic 7 footer that can run like a 2 up and down the court surrounding him with hard working striving to be the best players like Parker and Giannis will only make him the player he should be

His stroke doesnt look bad and I wonder if he is the player that I heard was hitting everything during the workouts, including long 3's. I am cautiously optimistic, but I can see the potential and the draft is literally boom or bust.

People were really happy when we took Giannis, only a couple detractors. I do think we're more risk averse now that we have something worth having, though.
