This. It fits Hammond's MO--remember he didn't draft Yi, but he got rid of him quick. He is responsible for Joe Alexander, but his track record on Giannis buys him some credibility. In this type of draft, why not swing for the fences?

Strange you mention this, because I just said the same thing to my fiance. I used to LOVE Milwaukee, now I can't stand it. But my reasoning is because I love the country...I do think Milwaukee does have some aspect of this thinking though. Sudanese, Milwaukee looks like Disney World in comparison.

No, I know many foreigners and often they have a completely different mentality. Not saying other locations arent intriguing, but they tend to realise that they can go to those locations anytime they want, instead of American born citizens who need the party in their backyard if that makes sense.

FWIW, I think Thon's chances of completely busting are considerably lower than many here seem to think, and a lot of that has to do with his mental makeup off the floor. On that side of things, he's got everything you could possibly want in a prospect IMO.

If you justified it previously, guys like you are the ones who have to take their medicine now. This reinforced what we knew to be true and a problem previously, still is, and it may have never adversely impacted us more than now, burning a top 10 pick on a Schwartz client who was projected to go about 30 spots later. I guess this way Maker's salary will be a couple more million per year this way. They even discussed on the Vertical the Schwartz connection is too pervasive to ignore at this point. But I know you like to troll/do optimistic schtick, so maybe there was no point in even responding.

No reason to take Maker at 10. Trade down and gain picks or unload MCW if we were deadset on taking him. He could have been available at 20.

Not to mention he is the next Yi.

If you love a guy, you take him. All it takes is one team. Those two 2nd round picks you get for moving down will be no consolation prize if a team takes your guy because you got cute.
