I think knight played his last game in a Suns jersey. After all the signings he'll nab a mid first round pick next year.

Very similar to Booker last year we got the two youngest guys in the draft. McD was talking about how Bender is essentially a high school senior. But he does seem very mature for his age and has been through a lot, especially playing for that team in Tel Aviv his maturity level seems high enough to replicate how Booker handled his rookie season.

Both of these guys are very lucky that we are in a position where our PF spot is vacant and either one of them will have the opportunity to solidify themselves some playing time. Chandler is going to enjoy having more young guys looking up to his leadership and Watson really does have a way with connecting with his young players.

I am excited about Ulis too, seems like a good addition to the team.

Mike Wilbon said we had the best draft! Although he included Skal.

Who do you think would make a good trade partner for Knight? For me, I think it would be the best move for us, now that Booker had some decent success at the end of the season. But I just don't know which team would want to make the trade.

Sixers? maybe some kind of three team deal?

I give it an A+ because they did what they wanted in the elite part of the draft, that's nearly impossible to do, when you have to change the status quo.

I really like our young guys - Booker, Warren, Bender, Chriss, Len and even Goodwin, Ulis are really free hits.

I didn't personally like Bender or Chriss, but I'm no expert and I liked hearing McDonough's rationale behind their selections highlighting their upside if they pay off.

I could see that. Knight is a pretty high character guy, and Jerry really likes those types of players. For that same reason, I see Okafor on his way out.

 Yeah, I saw that. Really liked that pick for the Kings at 28. That trade doesn't look as lopsided as originally thought. Good haul for Sacramento imo. Gave Suns B grade. W/Skal= A+ from my pov.

Yeah not sure anymore maybe Orlando or Bulls. I doubt it though will see if he does stay I really hope he buys in and Watson plays him as a 6th man... Then I would actually like him and his role

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

JMac likes it...but he was on Bender...just loved Hield too (but who doesn't like Hield?)

Cactus Jack - not around

ginobili - not around

I usually can remember who all liked who but my photographic memory is failing me because I often confuse some posters.

Though there were a few that rarely post that hated the picks...like Dambo, SteveNashidis and maybe some others.

Bender was my guy. I tried to work myself into Chriss' camp, but couldn't fully do it. I was okay with Chriss being drafted., but I would have been unhappy if it was over Bender. BUT I supported Hield if we were not going to rebuild. Thought he was the best ready now player.

I LOVE THIS DRAFT 100 PERCENT. I was fist pumping in my car as I was driving, cracking up laughing at Gambo and CO when we drafted Chriss. Unbelievable.....unbelievable. Soooo happy!!

This is definitely a confidence move by McDonough on the last year of his contract to take on 2 high ceiling project players in one draft with a rookie coach. I'm pretty optimistic right now, which I can't say I've been in awhile.

Hopefully Sarver is on board to keep McD but after this draft, he must be. I hope he doesn't demand we do something to make the playoffs in free agency and consider it a failure on McD's part if we don't.

Salary Cap:
Bledsoe 14
Knight 13
Chandler 12
Tucker 5
Len 5
Bender 3
Booker 2
Chriss 2
Warren 2
Goodwin 2
Ulis 1
Total = 11 players @ 61m
Space = 4 players @ 32m

I wonder if we target an experienced PF for 1-2 years to help teach Bender and Chriss.

It will be interesting to see what we do from this point.

I can see us signing Mirza to a 3 year deal and maybe Leurer to a 2 year deal. I hope this takes Barnes out of the equation.

I would make Ronnie Price an assistant coach.

I am high on Buddy, but he is a natural with the Pels. He is from the islands and has a little voodoo vibe to him. Its a really good fit for him.

Are you happy with our draft?

Yes. I think so. I had finally settled on Bender over Chriss because of his length. Great move to get up and get Chriss too. I think we would have made the same move and had taken Sabonis if Chriss was gone. Not sure I would have liked that as well. I like Bender/Chriss combo, or a Chriss/Sabonis combo, but not a Bender/Sabonis combo.

I don't mind trading Bogdan. It really made sense financially for the Suns. Once he refused to come this year, his overall value dropped because his salary was going to increase big time.

Ulis is interesting. I wanted GP2 there, but Ulis could easily be the better pick. He is smart, passes first (which we need on our roster) but also has a reputation as a defender, which is a bit amazing at 5-9 and a buck fifty. I can guess that he will be a very popular player here.

So, we already know that Sarver is not cheap, based on the way he has been signing contracts these past few years (Bledsoe and Knight). Is this proof that he is not as impatient as everyone says?

Right? They have to move someone from that front line.

Wanted Buddy but I can't be upset with what we did. Took two guys with huge potential at a position that was lacking talent. I gave it an A+ just moving up to nab Chriss. My gut says one of them will pan out for sure.

I hope so. I already said elsewhere that I bet Ulis becomes an immediate fan favorite.
