From what I have read and watched on this kid, he should make the team and could crack the bench as a solid role player.

Between him and the rarely mentioned other guard we got, Holiday, they are addressing perimeter D that we have lacked for years. Hustle players that can shoot as well as defend. Bring back LFT(Lance Fkkin Thomas) and we have a bunch of hustle on this team. Phil also wants to bring Derrick Williams back as well.

Holiday reminds me of a Wroten with a jump shot and better defender. No clue why he hasn't stuck anywhere.

Baker is a tough player. Smart. I like both of these guards to go with Rose and most likely Galloway. Would still like a better backup for Rose though.

More like Dellavedova 2.0. Blake was a mediocre at best defender and not the most athletic guy and really more of a pure PG. Baker is a terrific defender and quite a bit more athletic than Blake was and is more of a combo-ish type.

Nice... I thought Blake was a solid roleplayer in his prime so if he's that much better I'm happy.

Ron Baker is really good, one of the best college players I've seen over the past three years. What surprised me most about Baker was how good he was on defense, his fundamentals and ability to read players I always thought was incredible. He's great at moving without the ball and always keeps the ball moving while making smart plays. He has a good outside shot, but the system they played valued possessions unlike a lot of bad nba teams so he wasn't a chucker. I actually think next to rose he could provide a good calming presence next to Rose kind of helter-skelter style.

Observations. Of all the names that were listed in the workout thread, or wherever I saw Baker's highlights, I thought he was the least compelling, or among the least. Now, I'm no scout, and of course have liked players who have turned out bad and good. But when I saw his highlights, as opposed to Murry or Bembre or LeVert or even Cat Barber, his were the most boring and the ones that had nothing stand out, other than he had a nice looking shot. My thoughts were "not sure he's an NBA player, sure hope the Knicks don't sign or draft him".

That said, I could be dead wrong.

But he sure looks like a 5th guard, come off the bench, hit some 3's sort of guy, and we already have a proven, good defending, does a little more than that version in Galloway - ok, Galloway might leave. And I dont' see this guy as good.

KP as a pick was a walk off grand slam etc etc. But Phil's track record otherwise doesn't inspire confidence, though the sample isn't large. Early = meh so far, Thanasis = bust, Grant - we as fans are mixed; we don't know yet, but we can agree he didn't set things on fire first year, though disagree about why. And now this pick.

Hope he works out. We all better hope that there are some trades and FA signings of all levels Phil and Co are confident about because right now the Knicks have 6 guys on the team, one who is really injury prone and one who looks like he's going to star in the reboot of "The Greatest American Hero"

y'all must have stock in BP. There is a lot of gas in here. The percentage of undrafted players becoming something is very rare. If you think the odds are low for second rounders....lets hope he makes the team first.

I'm a fan. Watched him a lot during school and at Pan Am games. Huge competitor, great defender, great team guy, and can shoot it. Good bench guard.
