This also means Charlotte won't be resigning Lee. Making this even a better deal

Kings are not even close to being done wheeling & dealing . This is likely going to get nerve wrecking & fun .

Also Hornets are selecting for the Kings tonight at the #22 spot as we all are aware of that trade already .

Sweet. Finally some movement. Picks and space, sounds like going after a star type of process.

Automatically makes draft day a success for us getting rid of Marco for another pick.

I dunno I mean lee probably won't be back there they are banking on Marco replicating some of what he does and saving cap space isn't that bad a deal for the hornets

Russell seems strange to me. I like the shooting at PG but how does he really help now?

He will only be better next season and IMO would be a huge get

Don't know yet for sure but it is likely we have to take a some salary back at least as Marco was due 6,060,606 in salary I believe for the salary of the #22 so I think some salary at least . Gives us the ability to take more salary in other deals if needs be to some degree also signing Curry , possibly Rondo though thats iffy and free agency though that will be tough .

We are getting many offers for he #8 pick some getting multiple picks back , some for players . Trying to move up as well but I think that is less likely we will see though.

Woj said the deal can't go down until then. He mentioned no names and the reason it wouldn't be able to go down until then is because of the salary difference I would imagine so players back is unlikely.

Kings closing in on another trade . Haven't been told what team or for whom . Just was texted & source said just stay tuned won't say anything Further unless a deal is all but done . Draft day trades a lot of possible deals fall through .

Can you give us an estimate on the amount of cocaine that was involved in trading away Marquese Chriss for 13/28/and a guy that won't play here for at least another season (if at all), and subsequently using that lottery pick on a guy that was projected to go in the mid second round?

It's already been said he was going to go not too soon after and wouldn't last until 22. Chriss has upside, but I think Big Papa might be a more ready built player. He's got some upside too. I guess on one hand if they don't strike out in FA then the Kings have a ton of big young talent to fall back on should next season blow chunks. Not whiffing in FA is key now. They better come out with a good PG and Courtney Lee.

So they passed on a kid with a ton of upside that fit a major position of need to take a different kid with less upside that doesn't fit a position of need. And somehow that is good?

The Stockholm Syndrome with this fan base is mind boggling.

If that straight up was the thought process it wouldn't sound good. But it wasn't. Vlade said that once the guards we liked were gone then they decided to trade down for more picks. It was about getting more players not Chriss as a specific player.

We wouldn't have to take on any other salary. I'll break it down.

The salary scale for the #22 pick is right around $1.4mil.

So that seems like a lopsided trade Beli's avg salary over the last two years of $6.5 mil to $1.4mil.

But the cap rules stat that teams under the salary cap may make trades as they please, as long as they don't finish more than $100,000 above the salary cap following any trade.

The 2016-17 salary cap is $94mil and the Hornets have only spent $33mil this year (39 with Beli) so needless to say they have some room to spare.

This doesn't mean no cash was involved but that none had to be included by rule and we can see the benefit each club gets from working it without including additional cash.
