Noel/Dipo trade

Long time fan, first time poster...after reading through almost everyone's comments on this trade I had to register here.

I remember reading months ago how fans on here were interested in trading Oladipo for Noel. Ibaka is Noel with an ability to stretch the floor, playoff experience, and without the health concerns. Losing the 11th pick doesn't bother me much, because we don't need any more youth on this team, and ersan was just a contract to make the deal work. Ibaka is a PERFECT fit next to Vooch like I've seen some of you allude to. It's the complete opposite of Elf and Dipo, they never meshed very well and neither are good shooters (Dipo's midrange definitely improved, but still shaky beyond the arc). You would've thought we traded T-Mac again with some of your guy's overreacting on here. Victor was a very good player, but not great and his ceiling has been reached in my opinion. The Elf/Dipo backcourt was never going to get us very far, and Hennigan has chosen to stick with Elf. My ONLY issue with this trade is where AG fits in? If he can transition into a Marion type SF and continue to improve his corner 3's and ball handling then our front court will be one of the best in all of basketball. As for those who think Ibaka is one season and done, do you really think Hennigan would've made this trade with the thought of letting him walk for nothing? Vogel got his defensive anchor.

How you stand on these two points forms your opinion on the Magic 'Winning' or 'Losing' this trade. I think the Magic 'won' because of your first point. I also think that Ibaka is NOT old and he stays.

AG fits in? If he can transition into a Marion type SF and continue to improve his corner 3's and ball handling then our front court will be one of the best in all of basketball.

This is how I saw Gordon developing in the NBA (I also think this role is where he's more comfortable, I don't remember where, but I seem to recall Gordon saying himself that he wants to be a wing).

But seriously why are so many fans on here so dang bipolar and negative? Believe me I understand the frustrations of the constant losing and let down as a fan, but this trade isn't the end of our franchise. Oladipo isn't a superstar, let alone an all star. I like the kids heart and work ethic, but I'm not going to miss him getting blocked at the rim or blowing layups.

If Victor was as good as everyone overrated him to be, he wouldn't have been traded. I liked him too, but he didn't fit and Ibaka does.

Thanks man, just trying to bring some positivity and rational thought on here. It's going to be interesting to see how the Fournier thing works out. I'd rather not give him anything close to the max, instead go with Parsons or Barnes after his finals meltdown.

The trade benefits us a lot more than people realize. I think we retain Fournier, for the sake of losing an asset, and start him at the 2 with Mario backing. Out of the two I'd rather go Parsons. In a perfect world Batum. If I was living in fantasy land Durant.

I just don't want Fournier being another Tobias type situation where hennigan over pays him for the sake of losing him with gwtting nothing in return. Batum would be ideal but MJ isn't letting him leave Charlotte, and yes Durant is the fantasy acquisition we all share in common lol
