Interesting stuff from Watson about the style of play.

I might be going crazy but I buy into Watson as a coach more and more everytime I see an interview. He definitely said some really good things in that video. Especially about how the Cavs and Warriors and even Thunder at times are shaping their teams and the emphasis on small ball. His point about Ulis was also spot on and I didn't think of it that way. I can see why the players are buying in to what he is saying

Did the 5-foot-9, buck-50-on-his-best-day point guard really stand up to, gulp, 6-11, 270-pound DeMarcus Cousins during a recruiting trip to Lexington?

"We exchanged words and stuff," Tyler Ulis said. "I was exchanging words with him but [Devin Booker] wasn't leaving."

As Ulis bantered with the Sacramento Kings star, Booker, his buddy since middle school, teammate and college roommate, stood with him -- same way he has since they were teammates at a basketball camp for eighth-graders.

The NBA big man had refused to honor Ulis' foul call during a pickup game on Booker and Ulis' recruiting trip to Lexington last fall. So the duo kept the ball and refused to play until he agreed to honor it.

Cousins has accosted -- or hurled -- larger men for less.

Minutes later, Jahlil Okafor, who also was visiting Kentucky that weekend, persuaded Booker and Ulis to continue.

"Those two just start having words back and forth," Booker said about the Ulis-Cousins confrontation. "I'm there with Tyler all the time. Always have his back."

If Bender can't play the 3, then someone would become a role player off of the bench. I can't see Chriss or Bender banging with Cousins for four quarters at center. In addition, one would have to change his body type too much and that it could take away from what makes him special.

Given their foul rates, even if they both played all the minutes at PF, they'd probably both get into foul trouble. I think one can play five in small ball lineups but rebounding would be a problem. I think Bender can play 3 though...he can probably guard most 3s and don't think his size is that much different than Durant's when he came in. But as gaspar has said I think we don't need to be obsessed about traditional positions in today's NBA.

I am talking a few years down the road.

If Bender and Chriss can guard the 3, then I guess they should be able to play with Len. You are right, I should just say I want them on the court with Len, whoever guards whoever depends on the matchups.

If Len is good enough to keep around after this season, and I'd probably rather keep him even if he just shows a little bit of improvement, between Len, Chriss, Bender and Warren, in a few years, the four of them could reasonably get almost all the frontcourt minutes and usually just rest one at a time....sometimes we could go a little smaller perhaps.

I hope Tucker and Chandler are around this season so they can talk about what it takes...Tucker more by example and Chandler hopefully by example but at least in practice and hopefully they pick his brain.

Nope, positive vibes spread...from realgm across the fanbase to the arena excitement, crowd cheering inspiring the team to play hard and for the rookies to work their asses off for the fans.

But lately the realgm vibes that have been spread in such a fashion across the arena to the fanbase have come from fans reading saintEscaton and Frank's posts, leaving the arena silent impacting the team into poor play.

Well i was trying to be somewhat funny when I typed it, but I kind of knew it was a fail as I was finishing. You haven't been around long enough, but I always get super positive and pumped as the new season approaches and hope for the best. But I do think there is something with optimism being contagious to some extent. I think if the energy in the arena is strong, it helps the players, and it all has to start somewhere...if the media is all pumped, the fans will be more pumped and the players might be more confident.

If I am excited for the season, because of the hype and expectations are high, I may take my family and friends to the first game of the season. If everyone in Phoenix did this, the game would be sold out and raucous...... If I am not high on the team, I could care less and I would not be invested in the team nor show up for the game, thus begins another season doom to fail because of bad vibes.

If you don't believe or if there is a hint of doubt (for whatever reason) in what you do, you can't be your best. Can't do, don't get hyped, prepare to fail, is not in my DNA.

I get high as hell when I excel, and if I fail, I take it in stride. If I don't get high when I arrive, how in the hell can I enjoy the ride?

"Well we won the championship, but lets not get to high because we might lose next year, gotta get ready to fail."

I never agreed with that don't get to high or low. You can never get t high in my book, and if you have great disappointment management skills you can never get to low.

I can tell so much about people who post on these boards just by what they say when they say it and how they say it. Mindset translates and effects your life more than anything.

If you played any organized sport at any level or worked in any atmosphere where people skills are a direct precursor to your success, you are exposed to self-motivation ideology and team building skills continually.

Speaking of great questions....how about the antithesis of great questions? 910AM had Chris on the radio last night around 7:30 last night and all he could ask him was "what about the heat? Are you going to get a pool to get out of the heat? I know you like it hot, but what about 115 degrees? You better make sure your pool has easy access." Over and over he rambled on about the heat and Chriss was like that's cool, and instead of changing his questions, he continued to bring up the heat. :banghead:

 Man, the heat really has gone to your head. I'm glad I don't live in AZ currently. :D
