What i think alot of people are forgetting is that its not just about the money. Its about the role and how he will be featured in his new team. Just in the playoffs Whiteside was what a 4th option for us? Thats going to play a role on top of getting the max.

There are only so many things that we can control. We won't ever be the team that pitches him on having a Shaq role with unlimited touches.

If that ends up being the reason that we lose him then so be it. It really isn't anything to stress about because in the even that, that happens it would've been out of our hands any way.

As far as the Warriors being interested... Hassan's the 2nd best UFA in this class and 20+ teams have the cap space to offer him the max. Everyone will be interested.

I mentioned this a few pages back. Everyone seems to think he owes the HEAT something , when he really doesn't. If I was in his position, I'd be looking to put myself in the best position to win a championship. I would want money, a nice warm city to live in with a young core in its prime that's close to contending. I hope he stays, but he has to do what's best for him.

I'm already prepared to lose him. That'll make it more exciting when he stays.

I don't think he leaves the one place where everything has finally been clicking right for him unless he gets lowballed. Other teams shouldn't get excited unless a report comes out that Miami won't offer the max.

I'd prefer to hear from his agent than one of his friends. Because that response kind of upsets me.

A fair offer, I can understand. He deserves that much. But if he wants equal, he can go to the first lottery team that's willing to max him out. Every single one of them spit in his face when he was crawling and begging to get a chance to shine and we were the only ones who said yes, definitively. If the heat offer him a max, go get that bread. But he can't be sour if the Heat offer something that isn't equal to what other teams are offering. If he feels he doesn't owe the Heat anything, like a fair offer, then he can go. I get that if the situation were flipped, an organization would toss his ass out on a whim. But that's why these players are paid millions of dollars in guaranteed money.

Please remember we are a business first and foremost.

This will make you laugh or cry, there is a thread about the Wizards allegedly offering Noah the max on the main forum.

I'll believe when I see it.

I'm not against Hassan getting a max from us. I'm against his friend saying that he'd be willing to stay if the offered contract were equal with others, instead of fair. That is why I first said that I'd rather hear from his agent.

I'd be equally upset with the organization if they low ball him. This is his only chance at a great contract.

The reason why he is even in this position is because the heat gave him a chance and groomed him into a professional, what the hell?

Or did you forget exactly where he was before we picked him up? No one wanted him. He absolutely owes his career to the Heat. To say otherwise is borderline stupid. Now, as far as money is concerned; none of that justifies the Heat low-balling him if that occurs. I would be livid if that's what happens.

They want Mr. Durant, badly. I don't see how they can afford Durant AND Whiteside. I think Horford is on top of their list of centers anyhow. He has a high IQ like Bogut.

Can't afford both, one or the other. I knew they had interest in him, they manage to take him from us and it's over for everybody.

They want ball movement. They'll go after Horford first. I don't think Whiteside is high up on their list.

To replace Bogut? He doesn't have to do much to be an upgrade over Bogut, all he needs to do is work on his passing a little more but he'll never be as good a passer as Bogut. He also needs to set better screens and he's a much more significant offensive upgrade over Bogut at this point, Hassan and Draymond manning the front line for them would be an absolute killer because you're not getting into the paint or scoring in it.

Horford was awful last year for his standards, shot the lowest FG% since his rookie year and his rebounding has fallen off while his postseason performance last season didn't do him any favors going into this offseason.

I think Hassan moves quickly. If the Warriors really are interested, I don't see how he turns them down unless Durant is coming to south beach, which I doubt.

I could see Mark Cuban pulling a fast one like he tried with Deandre Jordan. Try to see him on being the guy and getting all these touches and being underutilized in his current situation only for him to sign and play the same role lol.
