I would be okay with this as long as Hassan backs out last minute like DJ did :)

imagine GSW with Hassan. They could dominate teams with small ball and have the best big man in the game. I think that makes them more deadly than KD imo. With KD there is a lot of redundancy.

Years ago I wanted Dwight to go to GSW for that reason.

Pay the man. I don't want to see this come true!

If the only two options are we pay Hassan the max and he goes bust or we lose him and he progresses, what is worse?

Golden State makes the most sense if the goal is a chip. That is his best chance at winning. They need a sf like Batum though, as much as they'd need a center. But as I said before, Hassan would destroy their ball movement. And he'd sulk about the lack of touches. Again.

Portland over achieved last season. Hassan would make them better, but not that by that much. They'd still be at the mercy of the top teams. They're missing another star either on the bench, at sf, or at pf. I thought they were solid at center, honestly. Weird that they're going after Hassan.

Lakers don't fit Hassan's ideal team makeup. He'll be the face of that team, maybe, but, they'll likely be in the lottery again next season. He wants to compete. Can't get that in the city of angels unless he's on the clippers. Lakers are some years away from the playoffs in that crazy ass conference. Maybe if they get Westbrook in 2017? But how would that work with Russell...

Yeah, none of those teams are an ideal fit for Hassan.

Spurs on the other hand have had a weakness in interior defense and rebounding. Couple that with how many open looks he could get there and there's a really high chance he goes there ... if they had cap space. Lucky for us they're sitting at what, 15 mil? That can maybe get them Biyombo.

Of the teams reported in the hunt for Hassan, only Mavs have no tax. California and Oregon are very high amounts. Plus we have the added 4%.

This is a game to get us to put the max max forward right away. Best thing Riley can do is say ok, deal, but if we can land KD too, take xxx less with an opt out asap.

Max him with a 15% trade kicker and the promise of a larger role in the offense, and call it a day.

Or let him go and use 20M for building our team around the other players. Either way I'll cheer for Whiteside. I love his game, even though I see where it doesn't fit with Spoelstra's tactics.

I swear, Gom has been hacked!

How else can you explain him salivating over how great Whiteside will be in the free flowing pass first and cut/move/screen offense but in the same thread (same page even) turn around and say how he doesn't fit with Spo's tactics??

Oh, and Bogut plays around 10-15 minutes a game where all he does is set screens, pass, screen again and goes for the offensive rebounds. Wonder how long Whiteside would last in a system like that. He'll be throwing up his arms in disgust every single time he "tries" to post up and the splash brothers decide to take the 3 instead. It will be one long sulk before Kerr pulls him out. Good luck!

it would be the best in this is a whiteside troll job with him flirting with other teams just to sign with mia in the end as a form of payback for passing up on him in the past.

what should we do if we dont bring him back? sign parsons, or batum and go small ball fast break crazy? pursue horford? in my heart, id rather see us be patient and wait till winslow and jrich come of age before we start making franchise changing signings, but i dont think thats the vibe bosh, d wade, spo and riley got going

It's a defining moment. We need to be absolutely certain that hassan is the right choice. I love him on the team, but I do see that he's an odd fit for what Spo is trying to do.

He wants to score in the paint, play tenacious defense to get fast breaks, and move quickly down the court. If you do all those things well, you will have wide open shots at the perimeter, but - yes - you have to convert. Joe Johnson, Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson, and Luol Deng can all benefit. If Wade and Dragic come back as legitimate 3 point options, we are going to look real smart. If not... well, let's not talk about that yet.
