He only shot two or three times in 50 mins and didn't make any of them.
He was unstoppable driving into Turkey and didn't really need to shot at all.

Kostas lives in the USA for less than 2 years. How coud he not have grade issues?

Can we start a different thread for Greece games?

I wish I would've looked a bit harder to wake up for this mornings match. Didn't know there was a game.

I guess Dayton has made the tourney 3 years in a row, just seems like a weird choice if he is one and done. Apparently chose Dayton over Florida

lol he's not a one and done, he's a pretty bad player atm. Kids who don't need the money tend to stay a while and enjoy the college experience anyway

Depends on what his goal is. NBA? How many Dayton players are in the NBA? Europe? College degree? Florida may have been the better choice there. So he probably has some academic issues but he's going to play four years of college ball? And at Dayton?

Agree. Also, Giannis getting a jumper wasn't really in Greece's playbook.

FWIW, I thought his FT shooting, just in terms of mechanics and confidence, looked great. I don't recall him missing one either. This might sound like I'm joking or something, but I'm not.

He's not good enough to play in major conference and certainly isn't one and done talent. There is a reason he is at Dayton.

He chose Dayton over Florida I'm assuming because they will play him right away instead of off the bench

Kostas Antetokounmpo, one of the highest-ranked recruits of the Archie Miller era, visited the University of Dayton on Monday and announced his verbal commitment on Thursday.

Antetokounmpo, a 6-foot-9 small forward from Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisc., north of Milwaukee, said he picked the Dayton Flyers because, “I feel that I will really fit in good with that program. I felt I can get good minutes as a freshman, and my family loved the school.”

The date for signing national letters of intent has passed, so Antetokounmpo will sign scholarship papers instead. He doesn’t know when he’ll sign but said, “hopefully soon.”

Before going to UD for the fall semester, Antetokounmpo said he will play this summer for the Greece’s Under-20 national team. He was born in Greece and moved to Milwaukee in February 2014, about nine months after his brother Giannis, a 6-11 small forward, was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. He has another brother, Thanasis, a 6-7 forward, who plays in the NBA D-League.

The Antetokounmpo family is originally from Nigeria. There are five brothers. The oldest, Francis, was born in Nigeria. The other four were born in Greece. Kostas is the fourth brother. The youngest brother, Alexis, is four years younger than Kostas.

In 2013, just before Kostas moved to the United States with his family, his brother Giannis told Milwaukee reporters, “I think (Kostas) is going to be the best of our family. He’s the best shooter in the family and he’s athletic like all of the Antetokounmpos. He’s been playing the game a long time. He knows how to play.’’

Kostas is a four-star recruit, according to Rivals.com rankings, and ranked No. 89 in the class of 2016. He was ranked 52nd in the class, according to 247Sports.com. He was the highest-remaining unsigned player in the country and said it was a relief to get the decision made.

Antetokounmpo said Dayton started recruited him toward the end of last season. Numerous stories on Antetokounmpo’s recruitment mentioned the likes of Purdue, Florida, St. John’s, UNLV and Iowa State targeting him, but Dayton flew under the radar. None one reported Dayton was even in the mix until Antetokounmpo announced his decision on Instagram.

Antetokounmpo liked the fact that Dayton returns four starters and will have a good chance to win the Atlantic 10 championship and return to the NCAA tournament for a fourth straight year.

“Oh yeah, for sure, I think every player wants to play for a winning team,” he wrote.

Did UW recruit him? If not, why the hell not?

He is by far and away the worst coach Greece's national team has ever had. Greece had easily the best team at EuroBasket last summer, and probably it was the best Greek team of all time in history (on paper one of the best European teams ever assembled, and Greece probably never ever has another team nearly that good), and this clown lost to the worst Spanish team of the last 12 years or so.

The funny thing is that Bourousis just gave an interview ht eother day where he said that Perasovic (Baskonia's coach) told him Greece had the best team and would have won if it had any other coach, and that Greece's coach was 100% responsble.

The Katsikaris turned around and gave an interview where he claimed Greece lost because of Bourousis, and that he played zero defense and let Gasol walk all over him. He did not mention how he never even once tried as a coach to put a different defender on him, or to double team him.

Katsikaris is a freaking clown, and the only thing worse than him to ever happen to Greece's national team is Vassilakopoulos, the clown running the federation, that keeps making all of these ridiculous coaching hires.

Greece had the best or second best roster in 2010 at the world cup, and the clown had a ridiculous coach in Kazlauskas, which cost Greece compoletely as the clown coach decided to play Spain with a 6 man rotation.

Greece had the best roster at EuroBasket 2013, and the clown decided it was a good idea to bring Trinchieri as the coach, despite that he never coached a national team before.....and the idiot coach took 2 centers (one of them Kavvadas), and 3 guards, then Spanoulis blew out his ankle right away.....and the team had 3 guards. Unbelievable.

It's absurd how many great teams and medals Vassilakopoulos and his idiot coaches have cost Greece in recent years. Then you have a coach like Priftis, who is obviously light years a better coach than Katsikaris, and he has to be an assistant.

I can't wait until the day Vassilakopoulos is finally kicked out of the federation, but probably he will be there until he dies, since he helps Panathinaikos in the cup and league every year with his crooked refs, and so Panathinaikos will never let him be removed. Greece has turned into the most dysfunctional big national team program in European basketball.

So the Greek coach threw a player under the bus and said player is back on the team? Weird
