Measurements are nearly identical and they're adjusted per 40 stats from there freshman year are pretty similar, possibly giving a slight edge to Kelly in shooting and defence?

From the outside I would be taking Oubre over Brown because of the potential to be the better pure shooter.

I feel like we got a steal with Oubre and I'd love to see him getting 20+ mins this next season.

I would think he would get some PT this season. Last season he averaged nearly 11 mph - which seems about right considering where his skill were (or lack thereof). But his 3pt shooting needs to improve, his D needs to improve - and he has to be able to pass the ball, at least once in a while.

I think Brown is considered a superior athlete. Brown is listed at 223 pounds, while Oubre is listed currently at 205. Maybe Kelly's length makes up for that. And let's face it, Brown actually started in his freshman season but shooting-wise, Kelly has a better pure stroke. I think we all felt that Kelly, despite his weaknesses, needed to play more last season.

Denzel Valentine, with hopes he can make Beal virtually expendable.

I would have taken a different tack. I'd have traded the #13 to Philly for the #24 & #26. With #24 I'd have taken Brice Johnson.

Then I'd have traded the #26 to the Celtics for the #35, #45 & #51. With those picks I'd have taken Onoaku, Bolomboy & Felder.

Give us a little something to work with.

That was also in my mind. Love Brice Johnson. I also have a feeling Isaiah Cousins is going to exceed draft expectation.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

A last comment on the draft debacle (preceding the FA debacle). Just noticed this --

Listen to Ernie say

a) this was a weak draft
(Uh huh... now lets see how the guys who we could have had at #13 do in the league.)

b) there was no good reason for him to buy into R2
The NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers bought in @ #54 to acquire Kay Felder.
The Golden State Warriors bought in @#38 to pick Patrick McCaw.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (3d best team in the league?) bought in @#56 to pick Daniel Hamilton.

Why does Ernie Grunfeld still have a job?
