Fournier or Parsons (or another wing option)

Pretty simple. Would you rather have Fournier back, or go after Parsons (or another wing player).

Personally I like that Idea of going after Chandler Parsons. He's 6'10 and adds a ton a versatility to our roster. His knee is obviously an issue, but reports are that the knee is clear and doctors don't feel it will hinder him moving forward. A starting lineup with Parsons could look something like this:

Payton
Mario
Parson
Ibaka
Vuc

with AG playing the super 6 man Iggy type role. If we wanted to play a small ball lineup have a Parsons/AG/Ibaka front line would be amazingly versatile and give the ability to switch on the pick and roll, stretch the floor, and protect the rim.

Batum is a better option than Parsons, IMHO.

Probably...but the consensus on him is that he is going to resign. But I agree...would love his versatility on this roster as well.

I think Fournier is a natural SG and Parsons is a SF so there's no reason why we couldn't have both. But ultimately Parsons is going to be really expensive for a good shooter. With Gordon and (hopefully) Hezonja being able to produce at the 3 spot, I don't think Parsons is going to be worth a max contract.

Also I just realized he's a career 70% FT shooter? That seems oddly low for a guy who has shot a career 38% from 3.

We are keeping Fournier regardless, but we still need a starting caliber, veteran SF. Maybe Parsons or Batum are a bit too expensive for the amount of minutes that Fournier, Gordon and Hezonja can play at SF. Possibly Deng is a viable option.

I'd love to see Deng but I'm a little concerned about his shooting ability (specially from 3pt range). Maybe Nic Batum is the best choice overall.

He might be, but you still need to factor in availability.

At this point, we just need to get some "dudes" as Scott Anez would say.

Give me Bradley Beal over both... Give up Zimmerman + LAL pick in a S&T in order to get them to not match.

Then convince Whiteside that he is the missing piece.

Unrelated, but Demar Derozen averaged 23 points per game this year???? I had no idea.

There's the value/benefit of getting to the line 8 times per game.

Why not both?

PG - Payton
SG- Fournier/Mario
SF - Parsons/Gordon (6th man)

Well I want Fournier at the 2, meaning we really do not have a true smallforward. My #1 target would be Batum but that most likely won't happen. I'd settle for Parsons if we could get a hometown discount. The guy is a 40% 3pt shooter and ended last season looking like an allstar.

Right off the bat in free agency I am handing Beal and Conley a max contract. Those are my two starting points. Fournier is under our control. I'm giving Beal a contract before another team can get Fournier to sign a max deal. We get one or the other.

Ibaka is the only 2 way player on that line up. No thanks.

I'll drive, you pay for gas. We'll show up on Beal's door step at the stroke of midnight when FA begins. :D

This is my feeling as well. We need to offer a poison pill max contract to Beal that is severely backloaded to force the Wizards' hand. Worst case scenario, Washington(division rival) matches and they're forced to pay crazy luxury taxes in years 3 and 4.

If Payton is our starting PG, then Parsons makes a lot of sense. I hate bringing Gordon off the bench, but it does give us rather nice depth, plus an elite tandem of 40% 3 point shooters on the wing.

The Magic's vision may be Elfrid getting in the paint and kicking out for 3's or running PnR with Ibaka.
