If not too late, how about this? Instead of the commish determining where a player signs, how about the commish assigning a percentage chance to each team bidding and run it through a randomizer to make the choice?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I hate this idea (sorry Laimbeer :) ). I think its much better with sportscrazy just making his best decisions.

I'll post the Knickerbocker's roster and contracts in a bit, but our needs is star power (looking at you KD, Dwight, Noah), a starting center, and depth. We have plenty of money, would prefer to keep our picks in any trades, and are open to trading for over rated stars. (See Knicks past)

Defensive players and shooters would be a plus too.

Whoever gets the Spurs should have an easy job, as they rarely make big trades, and it usually just picking up a low-key player or two in FA and doubling his value by adding defense to his resume.

Nah, but you know they are making a pitch to Durant (and this is supposed to be carried out according to what you think the GM will try to do) so I'll be interested to see that pitch. All pitches go in this thread.

With that said Your Detroit Pistons have these goals this offseason

1. Find a backup PG who can sometimes play SG next to Jackson
2. Find a stretch 4 who could play some 5 if need be
3. Trade Jodie Meeks away

Pistons will look to keep the core intact(Reggie/KCP/Morris/Harris/Drummond/Johnson). Baynes could be available depending on how FA goes.

Kobe Bryant, Roy Hibbert, Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre.

I really think FA should be separated into tiers. If you want to deal with 1000 offers and reoffers go for it. But usually the big name guys sign first.

For OKC:

Up for trade are McGary, Huestis, Kanter.

I'm picking up Morrow's option and letting Waiters test RFA.

I'd offer Philly a sign and trade of Waiters for Hollis Thompson at whatever price they'd get Dion for.

I'd offer Phoenix Chandler and Tucker for Kanter.

Renouncing Foye's rights should take the salary cap space to approximately 8 mil over the cap.

I'd also offer the MLE to Darrell Arthur or Trevor Booker if either are available.

Finally I'd inquire with Charlotte if they'd have interest in a sign and trade for Marv.

I don't know if I need to state it here, but the Suns are going to guarantee the contracts of Tucker, Jenkins and Alan Williams (didn't see him listed but he's been working out with the team and it's listed here http://www.basketballinsiders.com/phoenix-suns-team-salary/).
