Koufus/McLemore for Gibson/Snell
Kings relieve the logjam at Center for a defensive PF. Reality is with Skal a project the Kings need to add another PF and Gibson works here. Joerger gets another developmental task with Snell.
Bulls get a Center to help with Gasol/Noah departure. Can they tap into McLemore's potential?
? / Collison
? / Richarson
Gay / Casspi / Snell
Gibson / WCS / Skal
Cousins / Papagiannis
Balanced out front court with time for the rooks to develop.

I can see that. Only think I see as a hurdle the lack of minutes for Ben in Chicago with Butler and newly drafted Valentine. But Butler could be inline to be a ball handler for more minutes and therefore on the court with more spot up shooters like McDermott, Dunleavy and Ben.

I still think the Kings answer to finding that 3 and D guy at SG is a Ben McLemore sign and trade but that is a very interesting deal. Should they get that 3 and D wing without having to trade then that would a sweet deal, IF they went for it. It's debatable. It would depend on whether or not they want to play Valentine at PG I guess.
Speaking of Valentine I'm not sure about his fit with that Bulls roster but I think Hoiberg is probably giddy thinking about what he can do with Valentine on the floor. That's got to be his dream pick right there. He's perfect for his offensive system.

Maybe...
They need depth at guard and PF.
Only other guards they have on the roster are Dunn, Lavine and Tyus Jones. They could make that move but it leaves them exposed if Dunn misses time. They could always sign a back up combo guard as well like Vasquez, Foye or Rivers so it could work.
If I'm their GM I keep Rubio at least 1 year to make sure the transition is smooth and Dunn can run the team.

Re: Trade Idea Thread 15-16
Visit the Wolves boards and you'll see they have the Rubio "is the most underrated player in the league " thing going on right now. Names like John Wall, Aaron Gordon, and MKG have been discussed but only Wall was seen as something they would consider (could be a troll poster i guess) .. a poster mentioned WCS+Collison for Rubio and it was said the Wolves get screwed big time. Also Gibson+Valentine+Top 8 protected 1st fell way short for the Wolves as well. Lol I think I'll just stay away from them about Rubio. I have a feeling they will be disappointed if Rubio is traded.

If minny would take that deal we should make it in a heartbeat. Rubio has his minuses mainly shooting but he is an elite defender and a great all around floor general.

Agree with you. I think they will be very disappointed to find out his real value isnt near that. Wall? That is laughable, Rubio doesnt sniff that value. I think the market for non-shooting point guards and no-rim protection centers is dying and fast.

Re: Trade Idea Thread 15-16
I think you guys misread some stuff on the Wolves board(s). The trades that have been tossed around have been:
Rubio for WCS & Koufos
Or
Rubio for McLemore & future 1st
I came over here to see if anything like that had been mentioned at all. The "underrated" comment came after people were mentioning trades for cap space or superstars and he said "seems Rubio is either the most overrated or underrated player, depending on who you ask." Which seems like a pretty reasonable statement. Rubio's trade value is all over the place on these boards. The John Wall trade was later qualified with saying we'd need to obviously add incentive.
Anyway, are either of those above trades something you'd be interested in? I'd prefer the WCS & Koufos assuming we could grab a Foye-type of combo PG in FA.

We wouldn't even trade WCS alone for Rubio. Also, there is probably not much of a chance that we give up any more future 1st round picks.

I'll take your word.
As for your proposed I think McLemore + future 1st could work but instead of a future 1st how about we send Skal? It's said WCS would be a good fit next to KAT and Skal can develop into a WCS type player.

Might need a third team to pull off a Rubio trade since WCS isn't getting traded and including a future 1st is tough. Should have tried to trade 8, McLemore and Koufos for Rubio.

Re: Trade Idea Thread 15-16
I already gave an idea of what Kings would do in any Rubio trade likely .
Kings likely will not give up a 1st , Will not give up WCS in a deal for him either . Mac can be had , Koufas , Gay , Collison if they wanted him in any deal but a 1st or WCS is almost guaranteed won't happen .
All that aside a Rubio deal may not happen though as I said quit awhile ago Wolves contacted us and already presented a frame work of a possible deal now free agency will likely dictate a deal becoming more likely versus not happening .
We likely won't get Conley but we will make that call to try and make that happen . Then their is a possibility of resigning Rondo . Lin might be looked into but doubt we go to hard for him . Rubio is a possibility but not at what some of you are proposing .
We should know soon what happens at the end of the day .

Thanks for updates.
Wondering if the Kings might see MCW as a cheap alternative if the Wolves are playing hardball with Rubio and free agents are being signed for crazy money?
Also curious if the Bucks are involved in any of these talks -- we've been linked to both Minnesota and Sacramento before, though we might be competing for Rubio as you have previously reported, so that might be separate.

You all realize that outsiders consider Ben McLemore to be one of the worst players in the league, right?

dozencousins wrote:Here is an update in terms of Kings talking trade :
You heard it here First :
MINNY has approached the KINGS about a possibly trade of Rubio & either Lavine or Payne for Gay & Butler .
I want to just be clear this has been presented in serious talks but nothing for sure a trade is more so dependent on what Sac & Minny both do via free agency .
Minny wants veteran leadership to add to their Young roster & they love their pick Dunn and want him to start right away & the Kings like Rubio for a point guard however he is not their first choice .
Kings also like Conley and also like Lin a but as well . Also depends on if KINGS resign Rondo or not .
Kings will pursue Conley hard if not will have to likely pursue Lin or pursue the trade though again getting neither does not mean we will for sure trade for Rubio though .
By the way for all whom keep talking Shumpert can't say we would never trade for him but from asking about him in the past the Kings have never had much interest in him so far .
Trades that are talked about quit often never happen . We shall see if this deal happens or something close to it does depending on teams tweaking the deal a bit .
The fact that you posted "Lavine or Payne" interchangeably like they have the same value kind of exposes the content of this post being fake.
Rubio and Lavine both have more value than Rudy Gay.

I don't know, I'd be interested to see what value Rubio has in todays league. PG's that shoot 37% from the floor will only be in demand for teams that want the pure PG skills I'd bet.
