but i'll be damned if I don't get a little envious when I hear Jack McCallum describe his career.

i'm halfway thru the podcast (still talking about barcelona '92 dream team) but i am def going to listen to the suns part soon

I was only less than halfway through this when I got caught up and work and forgot, but revisiting, it is a great listen.

Definitely. He wasn't contrite about the depiction of Amare in his 7SOL but you could tell he knew that the depiction of Amare in that book is somewhat dissonant from how others perceive and describe Amare. He said his book shows just a snapshot of someone in time.

Anyone remember when the Ringer NBA podcast was actually good? This guy Chris Vernon hosting it now might be the lamest person I've ever forced myself to listen to (for basketball reasons) that wasn't Chris Hardwick.

Simmons and the Ringer's podcast as a whole have been pretty ****.

I haven't even bothered with the NBA podcast since I heard those two (can't remember the names. guy and a girl), talking about the NBA like a gossip show. Terrible.

One of the rare few people I've unfollowed for basketball reasons on Twitter. Just bad.

Empire of the Suns is consistently the worst analysis I hear on the Suns anywhere on the web. These guys need a new freaking job.

At your own risk.

Vertical Front Office Insider Bobby Marks joins The Vertical Podcast with Woj to breakdown the start of NBA trade season, including reporting on multiple teams plans and hopes to improve themselves and the players who could be on the move. Here are some key moments:

1:13: The significance of Dec. 15 as the start of trading season.

3:18: The lack of big-time players traded midseason during the past few years.

5:28: The Pacers and Kings not discussing Paul George or DeMarcus Cousins with other teams.

8:26: The Kings needing to trade Rudy Gay or lose him for nothing in free agency.

16:48: The Raptors’ collection of assets to possibly upgrade the roster.

20:08: The Warriors being more likely to add players after March 1 than via trade.

22:47: The Heat likely to test the market for Goran Dragic.

25:10: How draft picks have gained value as salaries have exploded in free agency.

27:41: The Nuggets’ mix of veterans and young players that will draw interest on the trade market.

33:05: Players available on the trade market, including Greg Monroe, Nerlens Noel and several Suns players.

35:24: The Celtics having the assets to make a deal, including their interest in Gordon Hayward.

38:01: The Nets wanting real value for Brook Lopez.

43:46: No head coaches being fired so far this season.
