Gasol is going to exercise his player option and be a free agent. His deal with the Bulls is for peanuts. So he will not be a factor in evaluating the Bulls roster unless they resign him for alot more than they are paying him now.

Kings have so many bigs. Celtics have so many smalls. There might be a trade there, and I'm not thinking Boogie. Same with Sixers now that Saric is confirmed to be coming over.

Every quote I hear out of Chicago sounds like he's going to be moved. When you are signed for 3 more years and that non-committal?

It's obvious to me if it were up to Butler, he's out of there like yesterday. He privately wants to get traded to a more competitive team with an FO who knows what they're doing. Problem is, Bulls brass really don't like to rebuild from ground up so they're holding on to him until there's an offer they absolutely couldn't refuse. In contrast, I think Boogie's content with staying in Sacramento for the duration of his contract.

Been watching Josh Jackson, Markelle Fultz, and Harry Giles highlights since the draft. It better take a **** superstar to pry the 2017 pick away from Danny. This next Draft is going to be amazing.

2 ACL injuries for Giles.... Would love him but pretty risky... like Jackson & Tatum the most

Fultz looks like an absolute star. I'm all in on Fultz.

We should be called The Boston PGs/SGs

We'll see how he looks in college I guess. But he fills a need and has superstar potential. Jackson and Fultz are my early favorites though.

I don't see this as being much of a problem. Yeah we have a lot of guards, but none of them are irreplaceable. The Warriors had a lot of guards when they drafted Curry. You don't pass on elite prospects because you have other decent players at their position.

Re: The (Where Ainges Fear to) Trade Thread, 2016-17 (1.0)
Seemingly, Philadelphia is in need of a point guard, a shooting guard and a small forward. Therefore, Boston could offer Terry Rozier, or Demetrius Jackson, RJ Hunter and James Young. In addition, Boston can include their own first round pick next year. On the other hand, Toronto could potentially own two first round picks (Clippers) in the 2017 draft. However, I doubt Philadelphia would want to acquire Terrence Ross' contract. That is, he'll make $10M to $10.5M over the next three years. Reportedly, Philadelphia has an interest in Harrison Barnes. I don't know. It might depend on which team can offer the more appealing young players in the deal. My guess is, Toronto will offer Norman Powell, Cory Joseph and Bruno Caboclo.
In my opinion, Philadelphia takes Toronto's offer if they include both of their 2017 first round picks, their own and Los Angeles (lottery protected). Also, Philadelphia probably doesn't want to deal with Ainge after the disappointing fallout from the trade talk for the third pick.

The Raptors will need to move at least one big deal to have any hope of retaining both DeMar DeRozan and Biyombo, and teams will call about DeMarre Carroll. Toronto has already approached Philly about a deal sending out a rotation player -- perhaps Terrence Ross, and other goodies -- in exchange for Nerlens Noel, who could then assume Biyombo's backup center role, according to league sources. The talks haven't gained much traction yet.

How many other examples of guys with 2 knee injuries in high school who later went on to the NBA are there? I'm curious how their careers went.

Not sure about HS but Noel tore his ACL early in college. Other guys have had major injuries early in their careers and bounced back (Blake, Kyrie, etc.)

Its super early, but Josh Jackson heading to Kansas is the kid I am most intrigued by thus far. Long, super athletic, defends, scores, shoots. Seems like the total package. Like a longer, better shooting version of Wiggins.

Toronto drafted Poeltl 9th I think he will be the backup center and they let Biyombo walk.

If we hit the mega-lottery and get Durant to sign here, I hope we trade the farm for Butler - including 2017 pick if that's what it takes.

If there were a way to get Butler...why wouldn't we have already traded for him? Actually, if there were a way to get anyone decent...why haven't we moved on it yet?
I have this bad feeling we are going to be playing 3rd team in a 2 player trade (neither going to Boston) this off-season...we'll see...

Toronto drafted Poeltl 9th I think he will be the backup center and they let Biyombo walk.
Or Toronto could start Noel at power forward since Luis Scola and Jason Thompson are free agents.
I wonder where Lucas Nogueira fits into their plans. Trading block?
Nogueira has barely graced the floor of Air Canada Centre and it looks like that will remain the same for years to come. It is public perception that the rookie Jakob Poeltl could be slated to take the backup centre position if (when) Biyombo leaves.
That has got to be a hard blow, not only to Nogueira’s confidence but his trust in the team. Admittedly he’s a project player but he’s been one for a while now.
