You have expressed you'd like to be back and we'd love to have you. With Bender on board as a young rookie, we feel he could learn from you adapting to the NBA and we love what you have to bring and the way you have really clicked with the group as a teammate.

The Suns would also like to offer Kent Bazemore a 2 year contract totalling $34 million at $17 per year, with a player option in the 2nd year.

Pitch: We feel like you would fit perfectly and be the young vet that could fit in with our group and really provide the defense and exactly the type of energy we need. The player option is so you can test the market when the cap takes another big jump the following year. We know you can help us, but we know that it is also in YOUR best interest to look out for yourself and test the market if that is your desire when there is even more money around the league to be spent on guys with your type of talent.

Marvin Williams: We'd like you to keep your options open as we'd like to sit down and meet with you tomorrow and feel we would have something you might be interested in hearing before you make any decisions.

Any interest in something based around Okafor for Knight and 2017 1st?

I can't really part with a 2017 first unless it was fairly heavily protected. Had you offered this last night and jayjaysee gotten back to me on a Tucker offer, I probably would have been able to work on something regarding Knight/Okafor, but not want to give up a pick next year unless protected for a while...at least lottery protected next year and top 10 or so protected for a while after that. But now with two centers it's tough to pull a trigger on that.

No worries, it wouldn't have worked out anyway. The whole point to me would be the pick and I wouldn't have been interested with the kind of protections you're talking about.

With a few minutes left on Day 1, the Lakers have contacted the agent of Marvin Williams that the offer of 48/4 will be rescinded. The reason is that Marvin has been receiving bigger interest from other teams which the Lakers feel we cannot compete, that along with starting position, which we cannot offer.

Instead, we have tendered the same offer to Ian Mahinmi. The Lakers are confident in signing Hassan Whiteside and Ian Mahinmi would be an awesome backup/support.

Hail Mary move on the Conley family.
Bulls would like to offer Greg Oden a spot on his summer league team and / or training camp.
What do you say Mr. Conley Sr.?

Just learned that Hornets would be able to offer Marvin 7.5% raises so the contract would be 4 years for 54,793,293 with a player option in the last year and a 15% trade kicker.

Ok day one for us (sorry, computer problems and all that)

extend QO's to all F.A's (i don't think Denver has any though since everyone is secure for next season)

take up Joffrey Lauvernge's team option
take up Jakkar Sampson's team option

Offer Axel Toupane a minimum extension for 2 years (2nd year team option)

Offer Mike Miller the minimum for a year

Now for actual F.A signings

Durant - Max for 1 year + 1 year player option

Pitch: We may not be these big time markets but here in Denver we have the pieces we believe could help win the west, guys like Gallinari, Nurkic, Jokic, Chandler, Harris, Murray, Barton etc with your talents could go far, not to mention the young Mudiay could provide you the service which only other elite guards to provide. What you would be coming to would be not only instant success, but due to the young age of this squad, a dynasty.

reasoning: why not, its Durant and the cap is there (56 million only is spent)

Evan Fournier - 60 million/4 years

Pitch: You would be coming back to a team that is ready to become a playoff team, we believe we are ahead of Orlando in the process to compete and you would go a long way to making us a legitimate threat out in the west. a backcourt of you and Mudiay going forward would be a legitimate threat, we believe in you and your potential to take this team to greatness.

Reasoning: i love Murray and like Gary Harris but getting an upgrade at S.G wouldn't be the worst way to spend the money

Alt to Fournier (this would be more day 2 but whatever)
Eric Gordon - 10 million/1 year - team option on the second (for 10 mill also)

Pitch: We have incredibly gifted medical staff that would help you rehabiliate and would help you get up to your high standard of play that you have become accustomed to.

Reasoning: alternative to Fournier but if he remained healthy he could be better and arguaby a better fit even.

Reasoning

Rockets have more cap room than this. After releasing Dwights caphold (he signed elsewhere so it is automatic), the team even with all existing holds should have $32,077,186.00 in room.

Yeah I'm aware there may have been improper math done on my part. Feel free to show me my errors.

I believe we should have enough to make the offer without creating space (unless I'm reading Smitty's sheet incorrectly, which is entirely possible).

Here's how I have our space based on a 94 mil cap:

10 guaranteed contracts = $71,014,557.00
2 non-guaranteed contracts picked up = $2,030,931.00
1 cap hold (Mahinmi) = $ 7,600,000.00
Total = $78,614,557.00
Space = $15,385,443.00

Which now that I look at it I must have something wrong because Smitty has our cap space as $11,048,493.00. But either way renouncing Hill should allow us to keep Mahinmi's cap hold and still offer Gordon 12 mil.
