I believe we should have enough to make the offer without creating space (unless I'm reading Smitty's sheet incorrectly, which is entirely possible).

Here's how I have our space based on a 94 mil cap:

10 guaranteed contracts = $71,014,557.00
2 non-guaranteed contracts picked up = $2,030,931.00
1 cap hold (Mahinmi) = $ 7,600,000.00
Total = $78,614,557.00
Space = $15,385,443.00

Which now that I look at it I must have something wrong because Smitty has our cap space as $11,048,493.00. But either way renouncing Hill should allow us to keep Mahinmi's cap hold and still offer Gordon 12 mil.

Sorry, I saw you wanted to keep Mahinmi and didn't mention Jordan Hill either way.

Unless a player being renounced was specifically mentioned, I include their cap holds on these projections so Hill was on that number.

Ah there's the problem. I noticed Smitty had Jordan Hill already renounced so I neglected to include that.

Phoenix Cap Space...with all the current contracts, including all options/guarantees I exercised, according to this http://www.basketballinsiders.com/phoenix-suns-team-salary/ I had 58.3 million. Now I'm not sure how much the rookie holds are, and I can't tell if those have been worked into Smitty's spreadsheet. But without them, if the cap is approximately $94 million, that leaves me with around $36 million in cap space. I think the rookie holds are probably around $7-$8 million, so that would drop it to $28 or $29 million, but the Tucker/Chandler for Kanter trade shaved about $500K off the books, so it should probably land me with about $29 million in cap space.

Possibly.. I need to touch base with Philly first to see if they are willing to do a S&T for Crabbe.

I guess I need to know what you are looking at....current space on Smitty's spreadsheet? Because it doesn't appear to be in season space...and I don't think I have any cap holds left, unless you are talking about the draft picks, but I know their salaries. In season space jumps to like $34 million.

And I take it if free agents that didn't sign have just rejected the offers?

Yeah some free agents are going to hold out as the bigger names get signed to create a bidding war from the remaining desperate teams with cap space.

Makes sense, but from that realistic point you were looking for, I think Teletovic signs with the Suns barring a mega offer. He loves it there and they love him. I guess we will see what happens.

Ok..well my count of Aldridge, Anderson, Green, Kawhi, Mills, Parker, and Simmons plus holds for Boban and Manu comes out at $75,151,005 plus $983,400 salary (hold?) for draft pick D. Murray, plus $2,717,355 in holds for being 5 guys under the minimum 12 ..which makes $78,851,760..which on a $94mil cap leaves $15,148,240 in space. This is all while renouncing Duncan, Bonner, West, Miller, Martin.

I'll admit im not a cap guru and not overly familiar with deciphering Smitty's spreadsheet so i apologize if i missed something but thats where i see a bit of a discrepancy.

The only reason for me to send Millsap out is if I think I can land a solid center in trade or FA and a good SF in trade or FA. One of the two. I'd be losing my primary scorer.

Id be willing to part woth koufos possibly

I re-ran the numbers (rookie salaries and cap holds count towards the roster spot) and think I know where I messed up. The spread sheet has you with the full MLE which counts against the cap so when you get more cap space than the value of the full MLE, it switches to the cap MLE which does not count against the cap. I also think I was confusing Tim Duncan's cap hold and player salary. When I fix these, you have $17 Million in cap space. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
