Cleveland understands JR and Delle's decisions to test the market.. We feel our initial offers were fair enough though

Delle is still getting matched if he gets bigger offers, 8 per year is a pretty reasonable starting point though.

Lebron has been calling asking why JR isn't signed yet. We let him know we felt our initial offer of 2yr20 with the third year partially guaranteed was very fair. We let Lebron know we are willing to work with JR but not sure what he didn't like about our offer. We didn't waste JR's time with an MLE level offer, we started with what could be an overpay at 10 per year.

The Frye trade market isn't as good as we hoped, guess other GM's didn't see how amazing he was in his small role in the playoffs. The Shumpert trade market isn't as good as we hoped either. We might have to wait til during the season to make moves, rival teams seems to not value our available pieces.

We also let everyone know we are willing to use our 9.6 million dollar TPE if it can be worked in to any active trade discussions. We don't mind care about the salary, we fully expect Matthew and JR to be back on the team though so no needs at the guard position as Shumpert is clearly seen as a negative we will likely be keeping him as well. We are only looking for either a full-time center or a tweener type forward.

We offer Matt Barnes 2 year BAE, we hope RJ/Barnes combine into one good player for the relatively heavy minutes we plan to have Lebron at PF. I guess we call it 2y4.2 mil? Not sure if the exception amounts will be changing this offseason with cap jump.

We also call our lawyers and double check ourselves... We don't think we are over the tax line considering the big jump in the cap? But we definitely could be.. Looking at MLE level FA makes us wonder. And maybe the rule is if you paid taxes the previous season. We are working as if we will have a tax papers exception vs the full MLE though.

"Joe, we loved the versatility on both ends of the court that you brought to Miami last season. So that we are truthful, a consistent starting role may not be available in our lineup, but there is sure to be plenty of matchups that will warrant a 3-wing set which could include Kawhi, yourself, and Danny Green/Kevin Durant. We realize that there will undoubtedly be suitors that can offer more money to you, but we feel that our championship pedigree and your fire as a competitor may make you amenable to less than market value for a chance at a championship. We wanted to make our interest known in a 2 year, minimum offer with a Player Option for year 2, similar to the deal we signed David West to last offseason. Should you decide quickly, we'd like to get a verbal commitment that is to be formally consummated after we have used our projected cap space on what we hope to be our big fish, Kevin Durant, who we are hoping to hear from by Day 2. We wanted to reach out to you now, to show you that you are a priority..just that it's strictly technicalities that would prevent an immediate signature."

To reiterate Spurs' interest in verbal commitment from Joe Johnson to be formally consummated after cap space is used elsewhere.

"We have, at times, struggled to score with our bench units out on the floor. We feel like you would offer great versatility in this area, being able to score from anywhere on the court, as well as create for others as a playmaker. You would be a main cog in what is already one of the best benches in the league."

Observer checking in, just a name i haven't seen the whole Day 1 of free agency. Is there really no interest in a true stretch four, Ryan Anderson?

Wizards respectfully ask out agent/commisioner, whether he removed Jared Dudley's cap hold from their cap count? Cause they seem to be missing cap space after only spending $14m and losing a key bench player already.

After finding cap space Wizards would like to extend an offer of $34m over 4 years fully guaranteed (starts at just under $8m, full 4.5% raises) to Solomon Hill. Once again the thinking is to give Solo a lot of bench minutes at forward positions, occasionally sliding to SG.

Edit: apologies to out commisioner as his math looks to be correct.
Wizards would like to waive Jarell Eddie, and renounce cap holds of Will Bynum, AL Harrington and Marcus Thornton, so in my math contracts of Gortat, Morris, Oubre, Porter, Wall plus cap holds of Anderson, Hickson, Sessions, Temple, stretch provision on Webster, 2 min cap holds of $543.5k (or should it be 3?) and my newly acquired FA starting at $14.05m bring me to just above $85m, correct?

Edit 2: with Gortat and BB on the books keeping JJ Hickson's caphold to give him slightly above minimum doesn't make sense, so Wizards would like to renounce cap hold of JJ Hickson as well.

After placing a call to Luol Deng's agent, we decide to call Luol Deng himself and give him a pitch.

The Lakers have successfully brought in 2 good free agents this summer in Whiteside and Turner. Both guys are on the younger side and the team is filled with youngsters all around. In the meantime, we see a big hole in the 3/4 spot and we didn't plan on bringing in yet another youngster in the mix. Instead, we've decided to call a veteran in yourself to help establish a culture of accountability, winning mentality, defense-first and commitment. We find no better professional in that mold than you.

On the basketball side of things, it will be a learning curve for most of our youngsters. Minutes will stagger between 23-28 as you fill in where the kids may fail. We are trying to make the playoffs after 3 hellish seasons of rebuilding. Its time we acquire someone with your stature that can lead and teach the kids, sort of like how Andre Iguodala fitted in the Warriors' scheme. We also intend to play you spot minutes at the 3, and some at the 4.

Contract-wise, we have 14M available on our books. We offer you that and a player option for next season of the same amount in case things don't work out. After this season, we both assess where we are and we could always sign a new, long-term deal when the pieces appear to fit.

Was wondering that too, esp how much interest he's having IRL.

Since this deal wasn't CBA legal and it was just Day 1 with a lot of us having a CBA learning curve, I will allow this contract to be removed and Marreese Speights to remain a free agent, but no more exceptions will be given to agreed contracts.

The Kings and Timberwolves both made pretty good offers, but because I'm expecting more bidding wars for him once the top level guys start to sign, I had him hold out for at least 1 more day.

I as Wizards representetive is probably one of the reasons for that situation. My thinking though is: Markief worked well with Wall last year, so Anderson would be a bencher, and neither works well outside of PF position, so it seems a weird fit, while at the same time Morris is a bit soft on the glass and Gortat starts declining soon, so it made sense to take advantage of somewhat rich center market and get defender/rebounder/rim runner type center.

Gortat offers a bit of shooting, even if it's not full range out to the arc, so he and BB can probably log 5-7 minutes together, in case I don't find new home for Marcin.

I still feel, at $12m Gortat is probably the cheapest starting caliber guy for Pelicans to put next to Davis for next 2 years. Having Asik and Ajinca already is kinda irrelevant, unless Pels consider one of them as a worthy starter, or they think, Davis is ready to start logging a lot of minutes at C.

If Mavs miss on Whiteside, Howard, Horford, Gortat would probably be a decent choice at C.

In other words there's a chance, someone will take Gortat into space, or maybe with small incentive. Always a possibility to work something out next summer, when center market will have less quality.

Carryover offers

Harrison Barnes:

Philly would like to offer Harrison Barnes a 4 yr contract starting at 17 million with a player option on the last year. We are offering Harrison a chance to become a focal point of our offense. In Golden State, he is more of a 5/6 guy but we want to highlight him as the complete player that we know he is. That's why we put him on the Olympic team - so the rest of the world (including advertisers) know his real value.

Seth Curry:

Philly would like to offer Seth Curry a 3 yr/20 million dollar contract. We think he has been overlooked in Sacramento where the shadow of his brother looms large. He would be a perfect fit in a Simmons based offense where he can excel as the secondary ball handler while taking advantage of the open 3 looks he will get as an outlet for teams crashing the Sixers bigs down low.

Right now, we are able to offer him a starting PG role to give him the opportunity to really show his abilities. In either case, he will receive significant minutes on the Sixers, including playing some 2 guard as we see him as a multi-dimensional shooter that will fit in the many different lineup constructions we plan to run out there.

This contract will also allow him to hit the market again as an unrestricted free agent at age 28. Just think about what playing for the Sixers did for the stats of Ish Smith and MCW - now think about how Seth can take advantage of that before his next contract.

Tyler Johnson:

Philly would like to offer Tyler Johnson a 3 yr/ 24 million contract.

We think he would fit in great as our number one combo guard off the bench getting minutes both at the 2 and as a 1 when Simmons is acting as the primary ballhandler. Depending on how other contracts resolve, he might be a starter but either way we envision giving him 25 minutes a night.

3: Brandon Ingram - Anthony Brown - Nick Young

1: D'Angelo Russell - Marcelo Huertas

We will take some time to assess what other offers to make, but so far, we like the flexibility and the athleticism of the group.

as a laker fan i would be pretty happy with this going into next season, though Nick Young can bugger off (stretch him) and we need to bring back Clarkson, also maybe have Turner play backup S.F or get one since we would need it. outside of that it would be great

Whiteside, Pau and Biyombo all off the market so if you're in need of a center, give Philly a call.

I have a pending 14M x 2 (1+1) offer for Deng. I believe we need a missing 3/4 link that could play stretch-4 at times, but not exclusively. His mileage also warrants him to play less and less minutes as he gets older. I think he'd be perfect for us.

yeah that would be a pretty good signing, doesn't realy lock us in too long term either just in case we actually have some hope next offseason with Westbrook. Deng also offers a vet and hopefully some leadership for everyone from Russell to Randle.

Giannis is leaning towards taking the MAX extension with a player option on the final year, if you offer that today, he will likely accept.

As for Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, Derrick Favors and George Hill, they're gonna watch how comparable players do in free agency this summer first and base their counter offers on that plus the second cap raise in 2017.

The Lakers have announced the signings of Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac.

Brandon Ingram will get the full 120% of the 4,401,400 cap hold on the 1st year.

Ivica Zubac will get 10M over 3 years, starting salary of +/- 3.1M.

These signings make them eligible for Summer League.
