Dwyane Wade anyone?

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Jun 30, 2016 1:03 pm

http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/06/29/report-dwyane-wades-camp-has-sent-out-feelers-to-spurs-and-mavericks/

Brian Windhorst of ESPN on 790 AM:

“Over the last 24, 72 hours, Dwyane’s representatives have been calling around the league to several teams. Not to every team, not to 29 teams, but to a few teams and have said to them, “Hey, Dwyane is going to be available and is going to take offers.””

“I know San Antonio is one of the teams that’s been contacted. I know Dallas is one of the teams that’s been contacted.”

The Heat are still strong favorites to keep Wade. He seemed unhappy with contract negotiations last summer before inking a one-year, $20 million deal and declaring himself a “HeatLifer.”

Windhorst isn't exactly my favorite source but it's an interesting idea.

Windhorst is indeed a windy horse (sorry...that was dumb and barely made any sense), but I think this would be huge. Pop knows how to massage minutes like no other, Wade wouldn't be the focal point of the offense, and what he brings is obvious.

I doubt it happens, but if it did, I'd like to see us try to move Green and Parker to address our PG needs and get some frontcourt depth.

I don't think he is serious about the Spurs at all. He is just using us as leverage against Miami. I'm surprised he's not talking to Cleveland to be honest.

He did the same before his recent extension if I remember right.

He is Heat for life.

(I wouldn't want some old and injury prone anyway)

He is just using SA as leverage to get a good contract from Miami. I don't think he plans to give them a massive discount at all.

He will never leave Miami.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

he would cost way more than he is worth on the floor even if he was actually available
Travis Outlaw: Oh man. That feels great. To have a bobblehead of me is just terrific.

He's pretty pissed you guys would have a shot if you really pursued it. The only team I wouldn't mind seeing him on would be the spurs. Love Pop.
