BullyKing, I am inclined to match the Crabbe offer-sheet, unless you are willing to work out a S&T for Noel?

What about Noel for S&T Crabbe & 2018 Cavs 1st round pick.

No thanks. I'm fine paying him market value but not to give up a better player to do so.

You won't have minutes for Embidd, Noel, Simmons, Saric, and Okafor... What else would it take to let go of Noel as part of a sign and trade?

My initial reaction was Portland's unprotected 2017 1st but honestly I think you guys are going to be pretty good so I don't think it has as much value as I'd like.

I'm open to it but so far teams have not been reasonable in my view in sign and trade discussions. I mean, we're talking about a backup PG here so the amount I'd be willing to offer is reflective of that.

Right, im thinking along the lines of removing the pick swaps owed to you and putting lotto protection on the 2019 pick owed to you. Thats all

"That's all" - I mean, c'mon, we're talking about a backup PG. Just go ahead and match the offer if he accepts.

Yeah im not asking for a single tangible asset. But yeah ill just like match then

The outstanding SAC pick is probably the single most valuable traded 1sts in the league outside the Brooklyn ones. You can try to diminish it all you want but that's just not a serious offer.

Portland Pitch #3

Target: Al Horford

Portland pulls the team back together after a disappointing first day to free agency and calls Al Horford's agent.

On the conference call is: Neil Olshey, Terry Stotts, Damian Lillard, and CJ McCollum.

At this point Neil Olshey (wait... that's me!) starts the conversation with Damian & CJ providing color commentary on life in Portland and what to expect being a part of these team. Neil goes on to describe how this organization and Paul Allen only do things one way in Portland: first class. The round the clock practice facility / team lounge, the ball-focused culture of the team, and how Portland is a proven winner, a young team on the rise who could use his leadership on the floor.

Terry takes over from here. Initial conversations start about how he's a perfect fit for the blazers offensive, his BBIQ and passing fit right in with his shooting, and stubborn defense. We also see that he's a better ball distributor than he gets credit for, and we could easily see him being a facilitator from the high post, and being one of the top assist men for bigs in the league. Terry goes on to describe how he will be able to play both the PF and C spots so he will have more flexibility than some other teams, and get to play different roles in the offense.

Portland would like to offer you a starting contract at $23,375,000.00 over four years with standard raises (4.5%) and a trade kicker of 15%. Additionally Portland will make the last year a player option so that you have flexibility down the road if you are unhappy for any reason. Total package of this offer is just over $100,000,000.00 for the four years

we will also be making a pitch to Kent, trying to bring him to Portland as well.

Al, we believe that you are the last major piece in making the Blazers a top-2 team in the West. We hope you will join Dame & CJ, and help do something special here.

spent 70% of time at sf when we first acquired him. Progressively less since then although you could argue that's because of the sheer number of guard injuries. I'd say 25-35% is probably about the amount of time at sf he should get in a totally ideal world, he's a really good and much better cover for the onball smallforwards than you would think because of his strength and quicks, offball he's horrendous, and many of the leagues small forwards are offball players.

Philadelphia withdraws its offer to Seth Curry.

Instead, Philadelphia would like to offer Jerryd Bayless a 1 year / 7 million contract with a 1 year / 8 million dollar team option. We thought that we offered Seth Curry a wonderful opportunity to come in as a starter and really up his value like MCW and Ish Smith before. We are not excited to offer that same opportunity to Bayless with the potential to then re-enter free agency at either 28 or 29 having proven himself as either a starting quality PG in this league or, at worst, a very high-level backup.

Since I can't trade the 2017 first (Denver had our 2016 first.) I could include a top 10 protected - 2018 pick instead of the Cleveland pick, I would also be willing to part with Pat Connaughton if you are interested in a bouncy SG prospect, or Daniel Diaz who is a PF prospect playing in Spain.

cheaper pieces, general depth, maybe a little cap space freed. Only guys who could be fringe starters or prospects that can play bench minutes though. No guys I've never heard of or anything.

The Stepien rule is only forward looking so you could trade the 1st. (Someone correct me if I am wrong).

Wait a second,
I made a mistake on that Derozan contract. ESPN said 6 years in the NBA instead of 7, the amount he's played, thought I was offering a 23.5 million contract... SO intstead I'll offer Derozan

4 years 24 million starting salary with 4.5% raises
which is 4 years 102.5 million

Stepien rule is forward looking only. So, Portland can trade a 2017 first, as any past obligations don't matter.

totally understood you have no obligations to wait on Dallas. If you get a deal you like jump on it. My interest is mild at best.
