In what way is Marquise Chriss ever going to be an NBA SF? Bender I can somewhat understand, but no freaking way on Chriss. Chriss is a PF through and through. He's closer to a future 5 than a 3. The NBA is trending positionless with guys playing up, not forcing bigs to play the 3.

I'd be okay with Carroll, so long as Tucker is moved. Move Chandler too. Carroll could bring Warren along and Bender and Chriss can man the 4 with some backup 5 minutes to Len.

Yeah, no way to rely on Bender or Chriss to play a ton of minutes at SF, especially Chriss.

Why does everyone think Chriss is less likely to play SF than a dude who is nearly 7' 1" tall, who is not athletic as the 6'10 Chriss?? I know Chriss is not a defensive 'stud' but he has the physical make-up.

Because of this:

Bender's lateral agility and ability to manuever in space makes him a better team defenders staying in front of smaller players. Chriss plays with no leverage/ bend and is really upright, he is a poorer man defender. Do you expect him to contain dribble penetration against wings one on one. Offensively he needs to be a better shot creator and less of a blackhole, his handle is good enough for a 4 but he would need to put it on the deck more at the 3

Suns - Barnes ( s&t 5 years 100 mill)
Warriors- Tucker, Chandler,

Suns- okefor
76ers - knight, lottery protected 1st

Suns still have all the cap they need to spend , yes they over pay for Barnes but in 2 years the cap will be like 115 million and this contract will not be bad anymore.

Bledsoe/ ulis
Booker / Goodwin
Barnes/ Warren/bender
Bender/Chriss
Okefor/Len

That's the base, but we still have around 25 million to spend. Go get our selves a pg/SG that could be a dynamic 6 man, and a pf.

I'm calling my free agent shot. Because we haven't been linked to him and McDonough makes signings out of nowhere... I think we sign Luol Deng for 2/30, and we are signing him to play PF.

Bledsoe/Ulis
Knight/Booker
Warren/(Deng)
Deng/Bender/Chris
Len/Chandler/Williams

Sources on @TheVertical. Dallas Mavericks emerging as a frontrunner for Miami free agent center Hassan Whiteside. Heat's lost ground on him.

I like Deng a lot, he would be a perfect fit (probably even better than Marvin Williams) for the next two years until Bender/Chriss develops.

SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

That's a trade worth doing, but Rubio and Bledsoe both deserve to start, but I don't think I'd want to start them together. Booker certainly deserves to start but I don't want him starting at the 3.

I completely disagree here. Pekovic is awful, and while expiring, Tyson's deal is going to become normal in 5 hours once Noah inks that $18 mil and TJ his $10 mil. We ought to be able to, at worst, dump Tyson for nothing.

Knight has value. He's only 24, and while we all hate watching him, he's worth a pick or 2 today imo, and probably worth more in 5 hours when Tyler Johnson sets the market.

Rubio does everything well except shoot, but that shot is a mammoth, mammoth negative that makes him a barely above neutral player.

Rubio's shooting has improved a bit. While shooting around 33% from 3 isn't great, Knight's 34% isn't much better. Rubio is one of the best passers and pg defenders in the league. Better than Bledsoe at both. I wouldn't do the trade because we have Bledsoe, but if we didn't, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Rubio would make all our players and he obviously doesn't play hero ball or decide to take possessions off. While his defenders might sag, he gets the team REALLY going...Minnesota, with the 5th worst record in the league this year, actually outscored opponents when he was on the floor. He makes THAT big of a difference, particularly with young guys. For our team at this point, he would be great to get them going.

My favorite option is Marvin, he is the better defender and the more athletic. He would be perfect for what we want.

I like Marvin the best of those options too. I actually would prefer Leuer to the other two because of age and a better all around game at this point...and he'd be cheaper.

Thats crazy. I wonder if he has had his meeting with the Lakers yet, as i expected him to sign with them.

Dallas would be interesting. I also heard that Dallas is on Wades shortlist as well and is above Miami. If Dallas could land both Wade and Whiteside, they could be in the mix as a real contender. All of this was set in place by Dirk re-signing with them for less than he could have. Talk about team loyalty!

Adding guys like these are useless tho, your adding players to help make you a more improved average team. You have to do one of two things

Go with a youth movement move the old assets chandler, tucker, and allow young guys to develope play and get better,

Go after players that if your young guys come on you can be a contender.

IMO championship teams add good role players that take them over the hump not average teams

Whiteside won't even meet with Lakers. He was thinking between Dallas and Heat.

Mix in a few young and competent guys to get them into the playoffs and they give any team a run for their money with fresh veterans.

I understand you, but it seems that is too early to start one of Bender or Chriss.

We have too much money to spend, so if we can add someone like Marvin Williams over someone like Bass the difference of $10M between them does not matter.

Terrence Jones had a nightmare season on the rockets and is now an UFA. He would be a great versatile tool to have on this roster, can play the 3,4 and smallball 5

With his value at an all time low, I think we could get him for 3/30.

If we could get him for something in the region of 10-12m a year, that's a bargain. I've always liked his versatility and he would be a great addition to this team seeing how he's still only 24
