I'd take Parsons at 22 a year over Harkless at 10-13 a year, he can do a lot more on the ball and with screens and is also a great shooter/scorer. Solomon hill expects 9-13 million cause he is versatile.

Agreed. Harkless is nice, but he doesn't provide much on the offensive end (other than cutting to the basket).

Anderson Varejao (stretched) $1,984,005
Al-Farouq Aminu $7,680,965
Ed Davis $6,666,667
Damian Lillard $24,381,225
Noah Vonleh $2,751,360
C.J. McCollum $3,219,579
Mason Plumlee $2,328,530
Allen Crabbe $2,725,003
Pat Connaughton $874,636
4 roster charges $2,173,884

about 54.8 million, leaving Portland about 5 million short of having enough cap-space for two max deals. The 'best' way to create sufficient space would probably be to renounce Crabbe and dump Plumlee, hopefully for a pick. OrTrade Davis

but I don't think Olshey has any intention of dumping that many players from a team that had the type of chemistry it did. Sounds like Blazer brass are all in NY while Lillard is in LA. Parsons appears to be a plan B or Plan C...a fall-back position

personally, I don't like the idea of trading Harkless, Henderson, Crabbe, Meyers, Vonleh, and Plumlee for Whiteside and Parsons...not with Parsons having that knee issue

I think I'd rather part with Crabbe than Harkless if I had to choose. Harkless has greater length, athleticism and is younger. He also showed good effort as a defender on Klay, which if he develops that ability could be vital for the playoffs.

Parsons will cost a lot, probably play 60-70 games. Maybe if he were willing to be a bench player and not cost a ton. But he'll probably demand a primary role which isn't great for the team if he isn't able to play consistently.

The main reasons Parsons would make sense to me is either if POR somehow knows how to keep him healthy, or if Parsons is necessary to get another big name FA as sort of a package deal. For example, maybe Howard would go to POR if Parsons did.

Damn I was hoping to get this done quick like Aminu. Now that doesn't look possible.

I think we can get Parsons for near max. Hopefully can keep Ed and Crabbe.

I don't know why he'd want to go to Dallas with an aging Dirk and Deron, a leaving PArsons and a never going to be the same Matthews.

Get Parsons sign a cheap rim protector like Hibbert and bring back most of our guys ain't so bad. Perplexed about Dal and Whiteside. Guess he really hates taxes.

When I read these tweets about who is becoming the frontrunner I scoff. No one has even met yet and already there's a front runner?

I read where the Sixers are looking at Crabbe. I also read that they've made Christian Wood unrestricted. I know most are indifferent about Woods but I think he has as much, if not more potential than Vonleh. He was stuck behind a lot of big guys in Philly and now with Embiid coming back I think they just wanted to free up cap space rather than have him as the fifth big. He's one dumpster dive I'd give a hard look at and have him at least on the summer league team.

I do have a question. I know teams can work out sign and trades with their unrestricted free agents but I'm not sure about doing it with restricted ones. Can someone give me the answer?

I asked this question on the general board....I know it Woj and all, but how is it a team can "emerge as the frontrunner" when no meeting have been held yet?

I mean if he is healthy he is the wing player we wanted to suck all year for and draft.

No idea. Woj is rarely wrong though. Maybe whiteside checked his weather app for Portland :dontknow:
