The Lakers just paid 64M for a player that averaged 17.4 mpg this past season.

Edit: Unrelated but I'm starting to think someone gives Bazemore 4/80.

I hope the terms are wrong.

LAL needs to sign some 1 year deals and go big in free agency next season after Luke and the young core shows some flashes of good we can be.

And let it be known that if some guys on Team USA want to team up, then come to LA. I want Jeanie to fire our president for this move. I would rather have DeRozen me Barnes.

Can the Lakers change their mind like DAndre did? Lol
I hope the terms are wrong. Or it's a team option every season. Please!

I voted Neither because Lakers lost giving him that contract but Mozgov did too because of the hate/expectations he is going to have for being the "big signing" for the Lakers

Moments before this...
I read a article about how the Mets opted out of paying bobby bonila 5.9 million dollars in 2000
and opted to pay him 1.2 mil a year, from 2011-2035.

I thought that was the dumbest move I have seen a team make in a long time.
The lakers topped it mins later... why didn't I read an article about the lousiana purchase...

Mozgov was the fall back option for the Knicks, Celtics, and Heat. The Spurs were interested as well. Now that doesn't mean this is a good deal but no one was going to get him cheap with that level of interest and the Lakers can't get meetings with their first targets.

This makes Koufos at 8 million look like a bargain. If this is the precedent set for this FA then line up the offers now :)

ps,

I'm just enjoying this until we max out Waiters :(

:/ I might be digging into a salt-mine, but I would take my chances with Timofey Mozgov over Enes Kanter.

Not at all, but you'd be pretty wrong.

I would happily trade Mozgov for Kanter and Dakari Johnson...
Lakers stretch kanter... and it is all worth it still...
