I think some of you are seriously underrating Chandler Parsons. The guy is a 6' 10" SF who shot 49% FG and 41% 3pt. He can handle the ball, and is decent at attacking the rim as well. His injury history is his obvious main concern, but his game is damn good, and a perfect fit.

yeah, but Batum would have cost the max to retain, unlike Parsons who only cost the max to obtained.. while recovering from an injury.. and then we wouldn't have Henderson, who is likely not going to be retained..

Us offering Batum the max would not have got him to stay so....

Agreed, I think Batum was half checked out when Portland traded him, he was gone.

One concern: is he giving Memphis time because he would prefer to sign there if Conley is coming back?

Been binge watching game of thrones for 2 days to distract me from FA. I'm with DB 100%, Parsons is a terruble signing. I like players with knees... wth Olshey? I would be drinking but i drank enough last night to last a few weeks . :noway: Thank god for fried chicken and vicodin. I'm like scared to look on twitter and hoopshype... Another disappointing FA. Yay!!!!!!!!

Totally agree. offensively he doesnt really have a weakness which makes him a perfect third banana and perfect in Stott's system. He can't be ignored and he's smart enough to make the right play. Keeps the defense on its toes and makes them unable to double team CJ & Dame.

He'll get and create a ton of open shots

You are right. He will put up these kind of numbers for us in all 27 games he plays in next year.

You guys bitch about Parsons and at the same time you complain about getting an upgrade at SF.

News flash... We aren't going to get Lebron or Durant. Batum was leaving. Other than them Parsons is the best SF on the market and it's not even close.

If we don't get Parsons you'll bitch about not upgrading. And if we aren't able to get a premium center you'll bitch about that too. If we resign our own guys and are basically capped out & a first round exit next year you'll also bitch.

What realistic scenario makes this free agency a success to you?

Better shooting percentages, 3pt shooter, dribbler, driving, scoring out of PnR, legitimate 3rd option. Chandler is better at everything but rebounding and defense on perimeter. Passing wise Batum geta the edge but Parsons had 4 a night in Hou, stotts will bring that out of him if not more.

Moving to Seattle seems realistic?

news flash... dont overpay for guys with known injury histories? hell even a resign of BOTH crabbe and harkless is a bigger win than chandler

and for center TRY to make a run at the premier centers, but it not do what neils always done and get a value pick.. ian mahimi, cole aldrich, etc...

this just screams, the blazers org got caught by surprise from their overachievement and want to make a stride for the 2nd round again..

chandler is not the different maker

Could we be one of the other 2 teams? Portland has a way of keeping everyone in the dark....

I'm bitching about Parsons because I think the guy seems like an egotistical prick. A talented egotistical prick, but an egotistical prick none the less.

Well Whiteside ended his meeting with Miami. Now he is off to Dal. He didn't reach deal with Mia.

I thought he was meeting with Mia after Dallas.

If Olshey, Lillard, PA, and Stotts go to visit Dwight Howard, and they have a tentative agreement with Parsons... That's a pretty good sales pitch right there.

I wonder if Whiteside is using Dallas as leverage to get a max from Miami like Wade is?

Probably a combination of depending on Howard not taking the max and trading Ed + Mase or Noah. Plus also shedding all our RFA rights.
