Now that the Hornets have retained Nicolas Batum, league sources say Charlotte is actively working to seal a deal with Marvin Williams ASAP
So Hornets are really content with being a 1st round exit kind of team I guess.
They are only going to get better. They are really young except for Williams. Batum is around prime age...everyone else young...all of their bigs, MKG, Kemba is underrated..he rates almost the same as Bledsoe...advanced numbers are better. http://bkref.com/tiny/IhKqU

I don't hate the guy, but there are some people put on some serious homer glasses with him. I don't mind Tyson. Bigs will always hold more value and they are roughly the same as overall players. One better at D, and one better at O. But I'll take the defensive center.
I'd be fine taking the defensive center, but Tyson has shown no ability to do that last year.
He regressed big time from the year prior, but still had a positive DBPM. Tied with Tucker for best on team, other than Alan Williams on very small sample size. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/2016.html

Knight isn't much better, if at all. Clarkson has only played 2 years and is younger.
Knight's contract isn't that great, and of course it's certainly better than it was, and he has more trade value than he did, but it's not like we'd net much worthwhile in a trade.
Hmmmmm..........sounds familiar...... I remember now, Markieff Morris. If you expect a good return, you'll get it. if you don't expect a good return, you will get that.
JMac selling his player: "This is the best deal on the market right now, I really don't want to let it go, but I don't mind helping out a friend. Remember, if I make this awesome deal for you, you owe me one."
BW: "I know this isn't isn't a great deal, so I will be willing to accept whatever you offer."
Difference between rape and romance is presentation.
I thought we'd get a first for Kieff on that killer deal.
PFs have much more value than short combo guards. Especially when they make a little more than half as much. We may end up being better served to keep him if he can figure out how to contribute to team ball. Picks are WAY more valuable now than they were a year ago, now that people see how much more value rookie contracts hold, and will especially hold next year. We MIGHT be able to get a late first for him at some point. Sacramento might want him but has nothing worthwhile to offer unless you want McLemore (which I'd consider).
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Knight isn't being traded. Mc'D will ride that horse into the ground. Knight is not a bad player, just selfish. If he grows up a little, I'd be more inclined to keep him. Bledsoe, Booker, Knight, and Len are the best players on our team as of now. I can't wait to see Bledsoe, Knight, and Booker starting at the 1-3 on opening Knight

For Mobile users:
Guess this means we're keeping Knight?
Knight was hanging with the crew in SD. The conspicuous absence was Chandler. Homeboy ain't happy.
Chandler is hosting the team for a week next month.
Then some other player the month after that but I forgot who it was.
Knight.

hey man i dgaf about chandler either way but don't leave bc of the knight hate.
i'm w you on knight. i've always maintained he is worth his contract (if not necessarily the assets we gave up to get him). i'm pretty sure suns fans will come around after the dusts settles on this FA period in a week.
14M/yr contract for a 20/5/4 24 year old guard... hmmm..
bradley beal is making $24M. they are basically the same age, have similar upside (adv beal) and similar levels of demonstrated ability (slight adv knight). beal has played more than 63 games in a season ONCE. knight has played fewer than 63 games in a season ONCE. (adv knight by a lot)
24M/yr. 14M/yr. cmon guys. cmon. the only statistic where Beal blows Knight away is: % of uncontested layups blown, and # of times the player's face has been t-bagged by clint capela

Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread (Post Draft)
Beal would definitely be worth the new max if he wasn't made out of glass and didn't face a minutes restriction for the rest of his career. I think Booker ends up being a better version of him being more effecient inside the arc with a money midrange game minus the two way upside

I can imagine what the media would have said about Len if his Feb/March run was for OKC. Last's year's per was 14 and 12....LOL! And some of you guys are griping about his shooting percentage.....put him on the line with a Hack a' Len and watch him shoot 73%.
Adams, Gobert, TT, and the rest of those "studs" are offensive bums who can't be trusted to be on the court in close games because they can't shoot FT's, pathetic, and that neutralizes their defense when it matters most.
If we told Len to just run around and play D and reb he'd be just as good as those guys, but we told him to go be Shaq or Tim D shooting from the elbow, then get pissed when he isn't and envy guys who shoot well because of dunks and put backs....

This is why I sometimes contemplate exclusively posting on the GB.... His best month still pales in comparison to the impact those 3 have for an entire season
Prove it!
First define pales, that's number one. Really smh.... Pales?
Second, I am not a stat geek, but I did put his per up there since he is coming off of the bench. What were his numbers as a starter?
AGAIN, his per 36 was 14 and 12 and TT, Gobert, and Adams performance made Alex's pale in comparison?
So keep banging your head all you want. Sorry I don't buy that horse crap about those guys. Pales!?!

Yeah, I don't think he will trade him either. At the VERY earliest, it would be near the deadline. I think they can possibly be an effective three guard rotation. Bledsoe HAS to stay healthy though. If he goes down, we are in serious trouble because I just don't think Knight is an effective PG. He's an avg SG, good when he gets hot, but turns it over a lot under pressure, gets tunnel vision, loses court awareness, and overdribbles, but other that that he isn't bad, except defensively.

I just looked at all of those guys guys' per.... Lol! Smh, like I said, if Len played with LBJ and KD and CO he would be hyped up so bad and people here would be complaining about Steven Adams being on our team. Those guys are all scrub FT shooters. I can imagine them in our lineup asked to shoot elbows J's all game while Chandler clogged up the lane.

The only thing I hate about people throwing out the 20/5/4 is that I don't like 20 points coming at the cost of a 41.5 fg% and the 5 assists coming at the cost of 3.4 turnovers.

I don't think DBPM is a good stat for a single year, particularly when the entire team is that bad defensively. Regardless, I shouldn't be thankful for Tyson. Tyson should be thankful we overpaid him so that when he gets sent elsewhere he'll get a ton more money in the process.

Well DBPM isn't measured against your teammates, but the league average. Most centers SHOULD have a positive one, but it's not like he provided zero value defensively. I don't really care that he dogged it though because I'm glad we ended up with the 4th pick.

Knight, Bledsoe, and Booker starts until Bender can play the SF, then Knight goes to the bench. Not even worried about it. The guy that is being promoted as your future franchise guy will not be coming off of the bench to start the season, no way. Those guys are our top three players. They will start and see how it goes, then Mc'D and Watson will adjust.

When defenders are sagging of of you and daring you take uncontested jumpers you aren't really stretching the floor. But yes we should cut him some slack for playing away form the basket out of position at the 4. But he only converted 39% of his layups, and and showed no touch around the cup. This season Len was of the worst finishers within 5 feet among all 7 footers.

Knight's issue is picking up his dribble to early, then he doesn't know where he wants to go leading to a contested long 2 heave or a flailing drive where he is out of control. Sometimes the ball goes off his foot and he's looking down....
