McLemore isn't a cheaper version of Dion. Dion's problem is decision making. McLemore's problem is that he came into the league with one skill set - shooting- and for whatever reasons he appears to have left it in Kansas.

Umm, McLemore only costing 3.2mil this year. Dion's new contract most likely lookin like 9-17mil depending on what insane GM is willing to make it rain. I think I'd take the flier longterm with McLemore as he doesn't seem to be an egomanic who thinks he's better than everybody else. But I can understand if you're still on Waiter's Island and why you might say such a thing.

Image

Dion PER = 11.9 & Ben Mc PER = 9.1

There's not much distinguishing between these two except the ridiculous money someone is about to pay Dion for mediocrity. Lin just got 13milly, Jerryd Bayess just got 9milly, I think Dion sayin to himself, if those bums got that, I should be getting 15-18. Can't wait til his # comes out.

This is McLemore's last year on that rookie contract. He'll be getting paid next summer. But Dion's a much better ball handler, passer, defender and can create his own shot. McLemore is a catch and shoot SG who can't shoot.

Edit - and why are you going off of rookie years only?

Rookie years, huh?

Sorry homie but Dion is not good for any contending team. On a Philly, SAC or last year's version of LAL, yea, he might raise some eyebrows of oohhs and ahhhs, but I'm sorry, there's nothing in his game that he's shown me in the past 4 years that he'll improve or take that next step sort of like PG13 did in '12 or Kawhai in '13 or McCollum this year, etc.. I just don't see it.

And we're talking about right now. I'm questioning, why would SAC want to plunk down 10-18mil for Dion right now and tie up that cap space going into the future when their team is just in shamblesland. That roster is in complete nowheresville and Boogie gonna be eventually traded for scrap parts because of how dysfunctional that front office has turned that roster into. So yea, I'd rather roll with McLemore for 1 more year than endure 4-5 years of Dion.

I can just see this exactly happening with Boogie and then after the game, punches Dion in the face:

That vine just shows that Lebron decided to freeze him out. He was incredibly useful in the playoffs for okc. I don't want to pay 18 mil for the guy but we also have a need at sg and I'd rather have Dion then BMac.

You must not watch BMac play much. He brings nothing to the table.

Respect. Let's not get this lost in translation, I totally agree, you guys have been desperate for a SG for a long while. In no way, am I trying to pass off McLemore as some unhidden, untapped next Kobe Bryant type but if it came down to paying Dion or running it back one more season with Mac, I'd save my money for the longterm. Sorry to say, but it's not like Kings are going to be able to make any moves that moves them out of the bottom of the Western Conference.

The front office/George Karl fiasco of the yesteryears, I'm sure, has turned off the marquee FA that could change the fortunes of your guys' trajectory.

Also, I like McLemore's mechanics and build. I think he could be something, possibly, around better pieces. Let's not forget, it's not like SAC has been the bastion of developing their lottery talent these last few years. He's only 23, probably will only blossom elsewhere in the longrun.

The fact Kent Bazemore (and Mozzy up there in Top 30-40) could be Top 15-20 in highest paid players in the NBA next season, that should cause the Players Union and Owners to commit to jumping out a window together.

DeMarre Carroll like, damn, had I waited another year, I prob. could've made an extra 20+mil and played even better than Bazemore within the ATL system if he hadn't been hurt going to TOR.

FA craziness.

Mozgov has at least had years where you could say alright if he plays like that, he'll get a good contract. Last summer people thought he could get that contract. Bazermore has never had a season that would justify giving him between 16-20% of the entire cap.

Bazemore at 20m is pretty bad. I'd go 15, but wouldn't be that happy. I think he's a better player than Harrison Barnes. More consistent shooter and a better defender. Hopefully teams are using the 20m figure on a 1-2 year deal.

Might be the worst contract today so far. And the fit is all sorts of bad with Lillard and Mccollum being the primary ballhandlers.

Are you sure that's not $7.5 million? Kevin Bradbury gets my vote for offseason MVP.

I just can't believe that anyone has watched dion waiters for 4 years and thinks paying him any amount of money is a good idea. You're better off just taking the money out back and setting it on fire.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Maybe they're thinking he's at least as good as Evan Turner?

They're Paying him like a guy who went number 2 in the draft :o

Six years ago. It's what he's actually done on the court in those six years that has people scratching their heads. I mean Dion went 4th if that's the only criteria.
