Which PG deal would you have wanted?

Given a choice, which would you have done? Will add others I missed or that come along.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Mine in order:

1. Dellavedova
2. Lin
3. Smith
4. Augustin
5. Bayless

I think Brooklyn got a good deal for Lin, but it seems like he wanted to start and Detroit couldn't have offered him that. The same might go for Dellavedova too. Regardless I like the contracts they got in this market and if the Pistons could have matched them that would have been good with me. They're clearly above Ish in pure talent in my eyes. The gap between Smith's deal and the two below him is significant for me though.

I think we got the steal of Free Agency in Ish. Solomon Hill just signed a 52 million dollar contract for Christ sakes. He wasn't my first choice but in hindsight from today's deals I am ecstatic with the signing.

Love the Ish signing. Now would be nice to have another unexpected move for a PF

The only PG I would want in that list as a backup is Lin. I'm sorry but for the money, Smith is absolutely the best deal. Now if Stan doesn't really do anything else, then I'll question why he didn't go after Lin, but Delly? No thanks, thank God we didn't sign him.

Ish is perfect for me.

Ish was on my radar but I expected him to sign for more. For the money and flexibility to be spent on PF, I'd take Ish Smith 10 out of 10 times.

Honestly? It depends on how else the rest of the money is spent.

If we get some no mane scrub pf as our other free agent signing, I'll have wanted Delly or Bayless.

Delly's deal is reasonable given the season he had. It's roughly equivalent to like, 7 mil per under the old cap. Really, all of these PG deals look fine when you consider how much Solomon Hill, Mozgov and Evan Turner got.

Would've liked Lin but I'm happy with Ish and the deal he got.

That much money on Lin is tough to justify with Reggie and the fact that they really can't play together.

He'll start for the Nets.

If Delly wasn't restricted i would have wanted him, the deal is fine. Then again the Cavs might match and the Bucks are screwed, cause everyone else has signed. SVG didnt want to be in that position, thats understandable.
The Ish deal is a bargain, can't do much wrong. Lin wanted to start. Bayless only can shoot 3s, nothing else. Augustin is ok.

Eh, Lin played and excelled with Walker last season. I think he would have fit with Jackson just fine. Starting seems to have been one of his goals though so Detroit never had a chance.

That's another part not taken into consideration for some. There is no doubt Ish is coming off our bench for 15-20 mpg. Delly/Lin/etc will be expecting to start with their teams for those contracts.

Lebron tweeted that he wishes Delly luck in Milwaukee. Pretty evident to me they aren't matching.

RIght. If Detroit had the chance to get them at those prices (they didn't) I would have taken them over Smith at $18 million over 3 years.

But if the Pistons land Horford then it changes things. Ish's contract is the only one that would allow Detroit to do so after dumping Baynes and Bullock plus the necessary cap holds and unguaranteed contracts.

I voted Lin for combo purposes, but for a pure backup pg, Ish is the best choice.

I hope he wears 6 for selfish reasons.....

Well in that case, i'd rather have Delly - 3&D really could have helped us at PG. But then again i have no idea what SVG is doing with the rest of the cap room.

I think you could probably justify all those deals. Even Lin at 12 isn't that bad of a deal compared to the ones some other wings are getting.
I would have preferred to pay Lin considering it doesn't look like we're getting a bigger name PF. im fairly happy with smith though

Ish can run the offense with IQ so I think SVG thought that's exactly the type of backup PG we needed.

Delly.

Isnt that exactly what SVG talked about? Runs the point, shoots the 3, plays defense, can play with Reggie. For the above price it would have been great.

Another thing to consider. Delly with 4 years is helpful if we don't want to pay KCP 32 million dollars a year. Think about that. Delly can play SG minutes with Reggie, play defense and shoot the 3. He is not as good as KCP, but if KCP is going to get stupid money it would have been better to pay Delly and then spend reasonable money on a SG that wants less money.

SVG might use the money saved with ISH on something great. But if its spent paying for end of the bench scrubs Delly would have been much better, by a long shot.
