Worst contract so far?

Post#1 » by JJ_PR » Fri Jul 1, 2016 9:57 pm

There's plenty to choose from. My vote goes to Joakim Noah. That 4 yr 72m seems like a massive overpay for a guy that wasn't able to stay on the court this past season. Add in the fact that the Knicks traded a better player on a much better contract who happens to play the same position, it makes it look even worse.

Mozgov is a close second and Turner is third. Who ya got?

Edit: I just saw Conleys 153m contract. That's easily the worst now by far. 30m a season!!! :o :o :o :o

Inb4 Dwight gets 5 yr 130m or something. Might have to constantly update my list of worst contracts handed out this offseason.

Solomon Hill. Dont see how you can top 13th guy on roster averaging 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds getting 52M. Every D-League player dreams about becoming Solomon Hill.

I can't decidr. There are a lot of contracts who are gunning for the spot.

Conley, Hill, Mozgov, Turner and Noah are in my Top 5 right now.

I agree this looks bad as well. I could see him being productive if given a bigger role though.

I'm going with Solomon Hill. I suppose he was decent in playoffs but he's a career .517 % TS guy who averages 6 points in his NBA career. Huge deal for him

Any non-restricted free agent that signed a contract not named Al Jefferson or Ish Smith.

Solomon Hill is a guy that can defend positions 1-4 and hustles non-stop. If his 3 point shot can develop a bit more(which we've already started seeing signs of) then his deal won't look so bad in the new market. I think he will be a fan favorite for the Pelicans from Day 1.

At least Noah has a high impact when he is healthy. Mozgov got a lot but he put up 11/7 a season ago for Cleveland, and big men with any semblance of skill don't come cheap. At least I can say it's possible we look back 2-3 years from now and say those deals ended up being ok.

I'd say its probably Mike Conley though. Never been an all star once and getting 31 mil per on average.

All of these contracts are just stupid. I really hope nothing happens to the projected cap in the next 4 years because a lot of these teams will be screwed even though they deserve for severely overpaying mediocrity.

If the NBPA tried to get cute and opt out , a lockout is deserving this time around.

If Mozgov can stay healthy that contract might not be that bad...people were talking about him getting the max last offseason. He's huge and can block shots and shoot free throws/midrange jumpers. Then again, he was pretty bad this year and I didn't want him back for more than like 7 or 8 mil...

The Conley deal seems like the scariest one, even if he is a good player. Reminds me of the Joe Johnson contract that hamstrung the Hawks.

Turner easily. The Blazers had no reason to offer that big of a deal.

The Grizzlies had to pay Conley, after having paid Gasol and signing Parsons.
